A/n: hey guys I tragically realized the royal suckage that lay in my other story so I'm starting afresh and would be absolutely thrilled if you'd review this one

Will sat up, propping himself against the giant oak headboard behind him. He pulled the white cotton sheets up around his waist and laughed and his wife paraded around the room. She pranced across the wooden floor and bent to pick up the shirt the blacksmith had been wearing when he entered their bedroom. She slipped it over her head, ignoring the smell of his sweat and the dirty stains that covered it, and she pulled the white, silky curtains from the large picture windows. When she saw that it was, in fact, still only early afternoon and the gardener was watering lilies just beneath the window, Elizabeth blushed crimson and turned back to Will who was blocking his eyes from the sudden burst of sunlight that splashed into the room. Elizabeth crawled back into the huge bed, climbing under the sheets and had a seat on Will's lap. She cupped his left cheek in her hand and he smiled at her, turning his head to press a kiss into her soft palm, never looking away from her huge amber eyes.

Will woke with a start, his heart throbbing. Elizabeth still haunted his dreams. He looked about the shabby room he made above the blacksmiths. The fire was nearly extinguished and the air was smoky with ash that was trapped in the room after Will closed the windows for the night. He sat up on his bed and part of him wished he stayed at the Governor's palace, like his father-and-law had asked. He then reminded himself that he couldn't possibly stay there, in Elizabeth's house, and sleep in her room, in her bed. He sighed and lied back down on the nearly flat mattress, staring at the crumbling plaster ceiling. The next day, he decided determinedly, he would seek out Jack. But for now, trying to fall back to sleep was pointless, and climbed the stairs back down to the shop to finish up some orders from the day previous.

By the time the sun came up, Will was finished with all the orders and, having no more work to do, sat down at a rickety wooden table in the corner of the shop with a scrap piece of parchment and a some ink.

Jack, It seems I made a wise decision to continue working at the blacksmiths after I was married, despite your suggestion to live a life a luxury with Governor Swan's money. Elizabeth has passed away, after being attacked shortly after our honeymoon by the Commodor. It seems his love for her drove him mad, and mine is about to do to me. I believe it is crucial to my sanity to leave Port Royal, and I'm writing to ask if you might have space on the Pearl for one more pirate. If you can possibly get me off this island, let me know when and where to meet you and the Pearl. Your friend, Will Turner.

Will folded the paper, sealing it was the wax from his candle, and wrote on the front 'Captain Jack Sparrow at Kelly's Pub in Tortuga' As he walked to the local post office, he hoped that Jack was docked at the city and would receive the letter quickly.
