"Innocent Gesture"
A/N: Quick drabble for Alec and Ellie, because I love the fact that he made her that cup of tea in the third episode. Set after the case.

When the hot cup of tea appeared the first time on her desk, Ellie wasn't sure who had made it. Perhaps one of her co-workers, there were several after all who would do that. Be that as it was she drank it without any more thought, thinking that would be it.
A cup of tea appeared at her desk every morning after that.
When finally after a couple weeks had gone by like that, Ellie was still wondering who it was doing this when she remembered a forgotten comment she'd snidely said to her half-hate boss.
Are you just making one for yourself?
Looking up and over, she saw Alec seated at his desk overlooking some papers. Sensing her scrutiny he glanced up, saw her gesture to her steaming cup, and half-smiled.
