Ok I wrote this after not sleeping for 24h so expect it to be really bad.
"Now class I want you to listen closely to this video. It may seem like a comedy but it will tell us a few things about our topic." Mr. Hardy – the history droned on about the video he was about to show us. I was half asleep when I looked at the screen to see the figures walk on. A blond with hair sticking up in every direction and six eyebrows each side was arguing with a ugly man with a French accent.
"OMMR*, its England and France." I squealed to the poor Irish boy beside me, who just so happened to notice they looked like the guys on my pencil case.
"Pardon? Bethany, do you have something to say?"
"Um –uh" I stuttered, slightly embarrassed. I took a deep breath and said " Well that so happens to be Hetalia. It's a comedy about the personifications of all the countries, the ones you see on screen are England and France. Hetalia has 5 series and a flipping huge fan base with fan art and pairings, my favourite character is Russia but the fans refer to him as Ivan- that is his human name."
My friend Katie had her head in her hands and whispered
"why me."
After calming down I sneakily took a picture to prove to my hetalia friends that we watched hetalia in class and soon I was stuck with telling the class about the story line. Even though there was none so I told them about the characters and their story – It's was only when the bell rang that we remembered that it was a history class and not show and tell.
Walking out of class I phoned my dear friend Charlotte- who was a England cosplayers and told her all about my awesome day.
"He showed a video o the class with that frog in it! I'm surprised that episode hasn't been banned!" I didn't notice were I was going and walked straight into a tall man. He was blond and was surrounded by people that I thought were familiar.
"I'm sorry I got in your way."He calmly talked for a few seconds. "I'm and me and these guys are the exchange teachers.
That's why I am now sitting in the nurses office with a bruised head – that I received after fainting!
