Shoulder To Cry On
A.N- Plot bunny bite. This is my first attempt at a Teddy/ Victoire fic. This is pretty much fluff with a smidgen of angst. The basic plotline is Teddy brooding and Victoire comforting him, hence the title.

Victoire Weasley looked at the snow covered grounds from her window seat in the Heads Common Room she shared with Teddy. Her eyes came to rest at the lone figure with a shock of turquoise hair, leaning against the beech treeby the Black Lake. she sighed. Her boyfriend was not one to talk about his feelings, and she respected that. But today, she knew he needed to vent. Everyone forgot that she had not just been his girlfriend, but more importantly his best friend. The two of them had been inseperable from birth. She knew his brooding was a sort of test to see who loved him enough to find him and lend him their shoulder to cry on.
She shrugged on a thick cloak and made her way to the potrait hole, down the stairs and into the Great Hall. Slipping out into the cold wind, she shuddered involuntarily. She walked towards the tree and sat down by him
" Tor?"
She responded by leaning into his shoulder, tucking her arm into his side. He wrapped an arm around her, pulling her closer to him, shielding her from the raging cold. She spoke a while later. "Tell me about it?', sure to phrase it as a question. His answer was muffled, his face buried in the strawberry-blond strands of her hair.
"Everything's changing. Gran's older and she's falling ill more often. It's our last year at Hogwarts. I'm too old to be at the Potter's all the time. We have to get jobs. I have no real place to call home. I miss my parents. I'm scared about us. And I think I've caught a cold." He finished miserably.
Victoire, who had been listening to his rant with a patient ear, now straightned. She looked him in the eye and cupped his face, stroking his cheek gently. " Teddy. listen. To. Me. You're going to be fine. 'Drodmeda will be alright with medication. Yes, it is our last year at Hogwarts. Cherish it. Aunt Ginny and Uncle Harry still treat you like you're ten. Jobs are just one tiny part of our lives. You are going to rent a flat with me. "
She stopped mid speech to place a hand on his chest, directly over his heart. "You're parents are right here Teddy, all the time. Relish their presence. I'll get you some Pepper- Up potion from Madame Pomfrey. But why in Merlin's name are you scared for us?"
He sighed. " What if you find someone better than me and..." He was cut off as Victoire silenced him with a kiss.
"Teddy, who has been my best friend since I was 2?'
He had the grace to look abashed. "Me."
She continued. " And who's the boy I've a massive crush on since forever?'
He grinned a little now "Me."
There was atwinkle in her eyes. " Who's the only boy my father can stand?"
Teddy was grinning widely now. "Me."
" Nobody can compete with that okay, so quit bloody worrying."
He laughed and gathered her up in his arms, her face against his chest and his face in her hair. She anchored him an some inexplicable way. She was the gorgeous, witty and coreagous girl that kept him going on days like these.
"Tor? Thank you."
She kissed him softly. " No problem Ted."
She stood up and held her hand out to him. "Come on. Let's get you to Pomfrey."
And they made their way back to the castle, a young couple, much in love, grappling with the harsh realities of the world.
Fin.
