Title: WORDS
Author: Michmak
Summary: A little poem. Sara is thinking about Grissom, and how he has withdrawn from her. Takes place after Scuba Doobie-Do (think chalk) and before Burden of Proof (think plant). Sara thinks she has pushed to fast, and scared Grissom away permanently.
Disclaimer: The only characters I own are the ones I create for the purpose of this story. All the rest? Not mine.
_____
I heard once that words can fly -
like birds -
through the windows of the soul.
You words flew once -
straight to my heart
and rested on my future.
I thought I had captured something
elusive and rare -
and so I tried to chain them.
But the harder I tried, the less they flew.
Eventually they just died -
crushed by the weight of my love.
I wish your words would fly again,
and you could forgive me for killing
the first
tentative flutterings
of your heart.
