"All right, listen up, and I'm only going to say it once, so write it down, okay. I am not an animal, I am a man. I am a human being. I won't break limbs for money, I fear Mike Tyson, I don't eat razorblades, I haven't slept with more women than Picasso... and I love cats."
Elaine couldn't help but laugh at the last part; Dennis Booker seemed like the type of guy to have had many women and he had a love for cats now that was priceless. The other women looked at Booker stunned. He seemed to be embarrassed so he went back into his office. Elaine strode over and knocked on the door. She turned the knob when she heard the low "come in."
Dennis looked up and relaxed when he saw Elaine.
"Can you believe these guys?" Booker yelled.
Elaine put her hands up, "Look Dennis, these guys have no idea what they are talking about. Let them think what they want."
"Yeah...easy for you to say." Booker frowned.
"Oh and you like cats, huh?" she smiled, "Priceless."
"Yeah, so what! You don't like cats?" Booker laughed, "What kinda monster are you?"
"The kind that wants to take her stressed out boss for lunch..." Elaine stated, "Let's go Picasso."
Booker laughed as he grabbed his jacket, "Okay, but I'm gonna drive."
Elaine smiled, however she had no idea that Booker brought his motorcycle to work that day.
"I don't know about this Dennis..." she muttered.
"Oh, come on. Get on, I won't let anything happen to you."
Elaine hesitated and slid behind Booker. She smiled as she took in his scent. She didn't really know when her obsession with Dennis Booker began. Elaine liked spending time with him, the more time she spent with him though she couldn't help but feel that she was falling head over heels. The thought of this scared her because she knew she shouldn't be falling for her boss.
"Hello? Earth to Elaine." Booker laughed, "Wanna let go? We kinda need to get out this bike if you wanna eat ya know."
"Oh yeah, sorry." she said coming out of the daze.
Dennis helped her off the bike and led her inside his favorite restaurant. They had fun laughing and chatting until it was time to go back to the office.
"Thanks for lunch. You're the best ya know. I can always count on you to make me feel better." Booker smiled his award winning smile.
Elaine did everything in her power not to melt, "Yeah, of course I'm here for you Dennis."
She smiled at him when she left his office, but her gut told her that this was only the beginning. The sooner she forgot about Dennis Booker the better she would feel.
