Prologue

Of course, things just had to get so much more complicated, so many more things put on the line for love. She wasn't merely falling, she was tumbling. Tumbling down, down, down, into the depths of her heart that had previously , every bump leaving a bruise or a gash, a scrape. Painfully exhilarating. And of course it was the same for him, only he had to deal with those people who tugged ferociously at his arms, trying desperately to stop him falling for that girl.

Both were smart enough to know of course that their feelings were dangerous feelings to have for each other. None were smart enough to care. Both were too deep in love to care. Though both were still smart enough to keep it a secret, for as long as possible. Until death, which seemed the most plausible future for the both of them. Dead and buried, rotting in a coffin while their friends mourned. She was certain while tumbling; she would never regret her decision. Neither would he.

She was a Gryffindor beauty, funny, charismatic, charming, who smiled a lot and had a plethora of friends. He was a handsome Slytherin, reserved, sophisticated, and refined. And really the two should never have spoken. But there was an accident, and she saw a glimmer of hope within him, something worth saving, and he let his guard down. And in the midst of war, those were the worst things people could do.

But as both of them tumbled deep into the hearts canals of love, so deep that there was no light, no sound except for his voice, or her giggle, those bad things were forgotten and they flourished together.

But even the canals of the heart can't protect people from the cruel, real world.
