A/N: Here is a short description of the poem. Rin and Sesshomaru are continuing their journey as usual and on this particularly beautiful day, Rin decides to make another attempt at engaging her Lord in conversation. This time she is successful. I am afraid I made Sesshomaru a bit OOC as much as I tried not to, but it's difficult trying to rhyme a poem while keeping everyone IC! Anyway, this is my second Inuyasha poem and feedback would be amazingly appreciated! The italics in the poem (obviously) represent dialogue.

So young and fragile
Pure and naïve
Simple and sweet
As the flowers she weaves.
But why
Revive
Such an impudent child?
Though I can't help but smile
When she tugs on my sleeve.
"Lord Sesshomaru"
She stares at the sky
And though I don't answer
She takes my long sigh
As response and continues,
"The sky is as blue
As I've ever seen it, Lord Sesshomaru!
The flowers are dancing
With butterflies,
And the clouds are napping
Deep in the skies!
I'm happy to share this with
Master Jaken and you,
I hope you are enjoying
My company too!
Will you miss me?
My Lord,
As I am dying?
If the birds quit their song
And the river stops crying?"
I'm silent and continue swiftly away
She's used to this,
But follows anyway.
I stop and look back at this young smiling Rin,
Her questions dancing like a violin
Ballad with an air of yearning
For me to finally say,
"Rin, I forbid you to speak that way
Again, do you hear?
Don't say such things.
You will not die
And the birds will still sing.
The river will never, ever run dry,
Rin let me tell you why.
Nature is strange that way,
Understand?
Death is evident all over the land.
Demons are lurking everywhere you can see
But I will make them beg and plea
For Mercy, yes, This Sesshomaru must,
For Rin, I must say you've earned my trust,
And I shall never let death befall your youth,
For once, I'm speaking,
And I'm speaking the truth."
Her smile is radiant as a child's could be,
She follows again, skipping joyfully,
It is a dark journey that we must complete,
But I'll keep her from harm,
From pain and deceit.
"I'm so happy to hear that My Lord
Likes me here,
I'm so happy that you spoke!
Rin wants to make
My Lord
Smile someday,
Perhaps I could tell him a joke!
I know you'll stay silent for now
My Lord,
But I wanted to
Tell you,
That though you are so quiet
My Lord,
I love to travel with you."
Her words are shocking to my ear
I keep my composure at bay,
Curious to hear what this strange young girl
Will next decide to say.
"I'm sorry Rin always talks so much!
But my words are running few…"
She stops and looks me straight in the eye,
"I love you, Lord Sesshomaru!"

A/N: Well, there it is. And in case anyone is wondering, this isn't really meant to be a romantic poem, seeing as Rin is still a child here.
