Disclaimer: If I owned them Eliot would sing more, Sophie would talk less and The mystery man at Eliot's side would have more family members and less angels and demons then he does alas I don't own them

Eliot Spencer didn't like people.

He didn't let just anyone get close and even the few people that Nate had seen around him, he kept at least at arm's length from himself as if he liked them and half trusted them, wanted to trust them completely but he just couldn't.

So when Nate walked into the conference room and saw a man who was close to Eliot's age sharing one of the big comfy leather chairs with Eliot he knew Eliot truly trusted him more than anyone else Nate had met.

When he walked around and realized that the man was sleeping on Eliot's shoulder he knew that it had to have been a mutual feeling, this made him wonder who this guy was that both trusted and was trusted by someone as closed off and untrusting as Eliot.

And Nate wondered if maybe the rest of the team would be able to trust him to.

Eliot didn't introduce him didn't say anything about him being there and didn't wake him up thru the whole meeting.

The others were wary of his presence but didn't say much since it was so obvious Eliot trusts him.

Then when the meeting to discuss the plan for the next job they were doing was over - Eliot hadn't said much and when he had spoken it was softer and quieter then he normally would have in an attempt not to wake up the mystery man beside him- Eliot still speaking more gently then normal asked Nate if it was alright if DW joined them on this job.

Nate asked if he could handle it, "soon as he wakes up he'll be right as rain and he can fight, He'll be with me the whole time, I'll make sure he's safe" the way Eliot spoke made Nate sure that Eliot would watch out for his friend and never wanted to do anything else which added to Nate curiosity as to who this man was that Eliot would trust and vouch for him so much.

Nate figured if Eliot trusted this man that much then Nate could trust both Eliot to make sure they both did their part and did it right and this DW guy at least enough to let him help Eliot with his part. So after thinking it over for a minute he told Eliot that it would be fine.
