Godber's Trail
Authors Notes: I always wounded what happened to Godber after the fight from Perils Of Penelope. When thinking about writing that, it would be kind of boring. Because I'll would be explaining his is trial and prosecution, and well that doesn't sound exciting. Instead I've written a short mini story, showing him put himself on a mental trail. I hope you enjoy it.
The Monobrake mossied out of the tunnel, kicking the dust behind it loudly. Once outside the International Rescue team handed Doctor Godber, an old grey haired man, over to the Amsterdam police who were neatly waiting for his arrival.
His jail cell, cold, unattractive, walls made of disgusting rock hung sobbingly in every direction Godber had to look. His incarceration was dull and unimaginative, leaving a hint of where he had come to in his life.
What had he done?
Godber was a Doctor. A well respected Doctor… was a well respected Doctor. He had a great degree in his field. He knew his stuff. Now…well, he had hit rock bottom for all he knew, this was it.
So where did he stand as a criminal? He was accused of three cases of attempted murder. Assaulting a fellow colleague. Disrupting public transport twice. And one degree of murder, Roache!
What started out as a petty desire to understand and have the formula to an experiment that he had admired immensely, had now landed him a one way ticket to a life of misery.
How had he come to this? His life was ruined. He was now in jail for forty years. How long would it be until he could try and appeal for probation? At least twenty. And by that time how old will he be just to appeal, let alone be on probation. By that time he would be so old there would be no point, he would have nothing to live for. He could hear the TV from the warden's office as a familiar name was mentioned by the newsreader.
"That film folks taken a week ago, showed the launching of the Sunprobe…"
