Lament for Frodo
You left me.
Over the seas from the Havens,
You left for the Elf-home, for Eressea.
Tears fill my eyes,
I stand on the shore, watching
The ship carry you far, far away.
How I hate Sauron!
If only he had never been,
Then you would still be here.
But he wounded you too deeply,
Nothing can heal a Nazgûl's slash,
Or the burden of the Ring.
And so I watch you,
As you leave me,
Leaving for the immortality of Eressea.
You left me.
Over the seas from the Havens,
You left for the Elf-home, for Eressea.
Tears fill my eyes,
I stand on the shore, watching
The ship carry you far, far away.
How I hate Sauron!
If only he had never been,
Then you would still be here.
But he wounded you too deeply,
Nothing can heal a Nazgûl's slash,
Or the burden of the Ring.
And so I watch you,
As you leave me,
Leaving for the immortality of Eressea.
