I basically came home from seeing Breaking Dawn, sat down, and cranked this puppy out in the space of about an hour. This is my first Twilight fic so don't hound me if I made a mistake or whatnot.

Disclaimer: you know the drill.

There were no words to describe the feeling.

It's not like love at first sight, really.

Whether it was her eyes, or simply his emptiness that longed to be filled, it was there – he saw the meaning of his existence in her.

It's more like…gravity moves.

The poisonous silence, the dread terror that had entangled him in its web had found an antidote. The floor, the walls, everything fell away until it was just them.

Suddenly it's not the earth holding you here anymore. She does.

The way her translucent eyes sunk into his felt as though she was entering him, moving beneath his skin and prodding his soul with those tiny pink fingers. He thought he had known love, that what he felt for Bella was love, but he was wrong.

And nothing matters more than her.

Love wasn't a feeling.

Nothing matters more than her.

It was a state of existence that barely qualified as being. She tossed him the rope to life and he grabbed it, held onto it with every fiber of his body. He refused to let go of her gaze, even when his own vision began to blur.

You would do anything for her, be anything for her.

In smoldering resolution, he swore to her. There was nothing to be said. He fell to the ground and handed himself over to her wholly and completely, recognizing that he was naked in her eyes and yet believing she would accept him just as thoroughly.

You become whatever she needs you to be.

He can't remember anything ever having felt like this. Not a surrender, but not a proclamation. As though they've known each other forever, but are seeing each other in the light for the first time.

Nothing matters more than her.

After groping around in the darkness, after brushing friendship, and trust, and what he thought was love, he has found substance. A real, live heart that beats for him, in immaculately perfect synchronization with him, and he knows he won't need to suffer the silence ever again.

It's not like love at first sight…

…it's life at first sight.

Corny much? I know. Still, it never hurts to review. And I know my grammar sucks, thank you.
