Yang stood over Adam, the new hole in his chest, still flowing with warm blood. Her left hand was clenched in a fist that slowly relaxed as she brought her right hand up. In it, the heart of Adam Taurus, still warm, and Yang swore it was still beating softly. A set of footsteps running up behind her made her turn around. Soon, Blake turned the corner, her near sprint brought to a sudden halt at the sight before her.
Blake's eyes widen with both fear and shock. There, her partner, and best friend from their very first days at Beacon, was standing over her old friend and now enemy Adam. Yang was covered nearly head to toe in blood, most of it, not hers. And laying right behind her was what remained of Adam. What was left of his blood that wasn't on Yang was pooling around him. Blake looked at Adam, then at Yang.
"Y-Yang…" She sputtered out, panic and fear obvious in her voice.
"Blake, it's okay. You don't have to worry about him anymore. See?" Yang said, holding out her arm which held Adam's heart. Blake looked at her right arm. It was dyed at solid, bright red from her hand to just past the elbow. Blake looked at what her hand held. It was in fact the heart of Adam, which Yang gave a little squeeze, causing blood to flow out.
"See? No more problems." Yang said calmly. Blake looked back at Yang. Her face didn't read crazy or insane, but calm and relaxed. Almost like she thought what she did was the right thing. Blake began to back up slowly.
"Blake? What's wrong?" Yang asked, the grin on her face dropping to a frown. Yang started to walk forward to match Blake's slow retreat. Blake continued to slowly walk backwards until her foot hit a large crack in the pathway, causing her to fall over. Yang reacted suddenly, dropping the heart, causing it to hit the ground with a wet slap and blood to spread from it.
"Are you okay Blake? Here." Yang held out her hand, the one that just held Adam's heart. Blake looked at the blood-soaked hand and arm. It looked like Yang had put on a sleeve or long glove made from blood. Blake watched as the still warm blood began to race towards her fingertips and start dripping, landing on Blake's outfit.
Suddenly, Blake used her semblance to shadow clone away from Yang. The clone turning into a mist or black and white before floating away with the wind. Yang looked up quickly to see Blake sprinting away and full speed. Yang just watched as her best friend sprinted into the nearby woods, never looking back.
Author's Note:
This is just a little something I wrote a couple of weeks ago. One of my friends in one of my discord servers wrote a skeletal version of this, so, I asked if I could re-write this and once he agreed, I whipped this up in about 25 minutes. Since then, it's just been sitting on my hard drive, so I thought I should just publish it as a stand alone one shot. There is a 99.99% chance nothing will come of this. I mainly uploaded this to tell you I am still alive. I'm in the process of a bunch of new stories but I am still working on updating the existing ones first. It's just difficult to find the time between my new job and my school schedule.
Anyways, Follow, Favorite, and Review
