A Mother's Ple
Chapter One: The Woman's Curse
The sun rose with a hazy red mist, dappling the earth in rosey gossamar sheet. The Ninth Cave of the Zelandoni slowly became illuminated by the scarlet rays of the orb as it continued its slow pace up the sky's horizon. The bustle of morning activities grew into an insistant alarm and Jonayla groaned as she threw her furs aside and began to work the slow flow of blood in her limbs to a wakeful pace.
"I swear that you are just like your father..." Her mother's voice chortled as the familiararoma of wintergreen filled her small personal hearth area.
She detected a delicate undertone of willow and frowned.
"I haven't gotten a headache in days..."She started, a pout pulling her full lips down at the corners.
Ayla smiled softly as she admired her daughter. She had grown into a beautiful woman in the short fourteen years of her life. She was apparantly blessed with her father's amazing looks.Jonayla's face was shaped much like her own, with full pouting lips and a small nose like hers...But her eyes...They were her fathers. They were adeep, luminous green colour with soft sparks of turquoise and violet...Full and bright within her face and delicately framed by long sweeping blonde eyelashes and thin arching eyebrows. Her hair grew in wavy turrets like her mother, but was the sharp yellow hue of her father with only scattered streaks of her mothers rich golden colour...There was no doubt in her beauty...And she was now a woman...Awaiting her First Rights that were going to be administered at the Summer Meeting...The Summer Meeting that the Ninth Cave would be leaving for in a few short days...
