One Day
A Sailor Cosmos one shot.

It was a familiar setting that Cosmos found herself in. She stood alone leaning against a bridge, where long ago she had kissed a man, far too wonderful for her to imagine in present times, on. Her lightly blue colored eyes staring up at the silver moon, a brief smile playing on her lips. She cast her eyes downwards slightly, to watch the deathly still water below, her expression never changing. "You are shining so brightly tonight, moon." She whispered. "Shining so very bright, just as she did." She cast her eyes upwards again, her eyes stinging a little. "Are you shining for me tonight?" she asked, her voice holding some hope.
Her small hands clung to the bridge tightly, her eyes focused on the moon. "Everyone…" she said quietly. "I ran away, like a coward. Like the same rash crybaby I used to be before destiny took me by the hand." She whispered. "I ran away to that time because I did not want to lose you again, not like this."
She stood silent for a moment before he face softened again. "But I did not lose you, did i?" she asked softly. "Not really. Because I am Cosmos, and with this lambada power, you were all fighting with me." Her eyes fell shut and her hands loosened their grip. "But I am also Tsukino Usagi. And although I feel you all burning in my heart, I am still lonely."
"Can you hear me?" she asked, her voice barely audible. "I just wish to hear your voices again. Hear you say 'Stop crying, Usagi, you're such a baby!'. That is… That is all I want."
Cosmos opened her eyes again, smiling in a bittersweet way. "I think I will have to wait a while to hear you say that, won't i?" she sighed, placing her hand against her chest, feeling a comforting warmth. "Right now I must return to that holy place, and that is where you will leave me. You all deserve to live in this world which we have fought for. For all the world which we have fought for. But i… I would like to sleep a while, in that place." She murmured. "Just for a little while. And then, when you all return to that place, we will be reborn and we will all meet again.
"All of us, surely we will meet again on this blue planet. And all the friends we made along the way we will meet them too. But until then, all of you will live in this place that we have built with our hope and strength and love…"
Her eyes fell shut again, a gentle smile in place. "That is my greatest wish, everyone… That one day we will meet again and continue to protect this world together."
One day, well definitely meet again, everyone.
