She stood four feet from him. Believing his eyes were deceiving him, he rubbed them. When he realised that she was, infact, stood before him, made him doubt the loyalty from his team to him. "Emily." He whispered.

"Hey Spencer." She choked with a small smile.

"How is this real? You were dead. We buried you." Reid said, trying to reclaim what his thoughts and trying to work out, why they would tell him she was dead. Why they would not let him say goodbye. All because she was actually alive.

"I'm sorry. I had to leave to protect you." She explained.

"But Doyle was here in America. We weren't in danger." He said.

"Because he thought I was dead. I couldn't risk it. Reid, if he knew I was alive, he wouldn't have stopped until I was dead. And if that meant killing you all, then that was what he was going to do." Tears started to cloud her vision as she spoke.

All of a sudden, long but strong arms encircled her and brought her into a tight embrace. Emily relaxed into Spencer's arms, and her tears started to flow. "I missed you. I'm glad you're back." He told her. Reid released Prentiss from his arms, and she turned to face Morgan. "I'm sorry." Emily said to Derek. She wrapped her arms around his neck and they hugged each other. "I'm sorry," She whispered, mainly to Derek. "But, what is going on? What is happening with Declan?" Prentiss asked.

"Doyle knows where Declan lives. We have Doyle in custody, but Declan.. Declan has been kidnapped. We think by his birthmother. I wanted to know, do you know who his mother is?" Hotch asked Prentiss.

"I don't know. All Doyle told me, was that she died shortly after Declan was born." Prentiss informed them.

**2 Hours Later**

"Spencer! Spencer talk to me!" Emily shouted at Spencer's retreating form.

"Why Emily? So I can watch as you worm your way back in, without even thinking about how any of us coped with your death?" Reid used air quotes to emphasise the fakeness of her death.

"I am sorry. I'm sorry you went to JJ crying for ten weeks. I'm sorry I never told you. I am just so sorry Spencer." Emily almost shouted at him.

Spencer then did something totally unexpected, but totally welcomed. He kiss her. The kiss started off, fueled on rage and sadness, but soon turned passionate and soft.

"I missed that." Emily said.

"I'm still not over being upset, but me too Mrs Reid." Spencer smiled.

A/N: Hey, so I was bored yesterday and instead of doing revision for my exam, which is in about 40-50 minutes, I wrote this. And then wrote it out here a bit better than what was on paper. I hope it's okay. Reviews would be delightful :)

AU fic. Totally AU unfortunately. Just a 'what could have happened' in 7x01 when Emily came back. It's a 'what I wish happened' fic though :)
