DISCLAIMER: All 3 books in the Twilight Series belong to Stephenie Meyer, as does Edward and Bella. I own nothing.

They have been through this before. There once was a time when they were entangled as one. They were disconnected and each was put in their own bodies, so that could be reunited as one once again.

He was born in 1901 and she was born later in 1903. He lived in Chicago. She lived in Fargo. They both became ill with Spanish Influenza in 1918. They both died, but as she went on to the other side waiting for the right time to return – he remained on the earth as an immortal.

She was reborn in the year of 1987 in the state of Washington. When she was young her mother left her father and they moved to California, only to move a few years later to Arizona. Eventually after her mother remarried, she moved back to Washington to the place of her birth.

He roamed the earth for a little over 100 years, thinking he was complete within himself. He did not realize what or better yet who he was missing in his life. He did not think himself worthy enough of the love that was shared between his adoptive siblings and their mates. The idea that someone could make him feel the same way his adoptive parents make each other feel seemed too good to be true.

Unbeknown to the both of them, fate has brought them back together. This was not fate of the normal variety, because the only way that they could be reunited was if she was to die again. Instead of facing the normal demise, she would have to become an immortal like him. It was the only way their souls could reconnect as one.

It was no coincidence that her blood affected him like no other. When she took the seat next to him on that fateful day in biology, he was not supposed to resist his urges. He was supposed to give into them. He would not have drained her dry, because his psychic sister would have come and stopped him before it was too late. She would have been reunited with her other half in the truest sense.

Instead he let his rationale side take over. This was the one time he should have let the monster win. After he failed to complete his task in biology he was given the chance over and over again, when she was almost hit by a van and when she was almost murdered in Port Angeles. Sure there would have been consequences, but fate would not see them.

It came to pass that one night another vampire bit her. He came just in time to save her from being drained dry. He shouldn't have sucked the venom out though. Once again his stubborn morals won over.

He even left her after her brother almost killed her, thinking that he was protecting her. He learned how wrong he was when he could barely function without her. He would learn later just how much strength it took for her to live day by day. Fate did not let them stay apart for long. They were reunited in Italy after he went to commit suicide after hearing a rumor that she was dead.

She wanted nothing more than to be with him for eternity. He could not fathom how she could possibly want to be a monster. Her extra degree of understanding that was implanted in her soul understood why, even if she could not express it in words. He was her other half and she needs to attach herself to him in everyway possible. The only way that is possible if they are of the same species.

Finally he realized err of his ways and no matter what sacrifices would have to be made on her part – he realized that he should listen to her. In every choice in life sacrifices will be made. There is no such thing as a completely happy ending. The level of gratitude wanes down in time. Life (or immortality) has its ups and downs, as long as you have your other half by your side you can make it through anything.
