Hi everyone! First chapter of first fiction, hope you like it! Just let me explain some few things: This story takes place 10 years after Wendy went to Neverland. I assumed she was 12 back then, so she is 22 in my story. And it takes place in 1921 because the book was published in 1911. Thanks and please review!

Disclaimers: I do not own Wendy Darling or any other characters of Peter Pan

Oh, sorry for my English, it's a francophone writing here!

Chapter 1: May 1921

It was a beautiful spring day invaded with a small wind and the echo of some birds chirping. The grass in the park was covered with clover flowers in all shades of pink. Under the biggest tree was Wendy Darling, sitting on her favorite bench. She had grown wonderfully leaving the flat body of a girl to the past. On that particular day, she wore a long navy blue dress with black flowers stitched at the seems. Her hair was tied up in a high bun, which was hidden by a massive hat. Truly, Wendy Darling looked like the perfect 22 year old wife-to-be.

Wife-to-be…In the last few weeks, her dear parents were "highly recommending" her to find a husband. And quickly. But why would she marry? Wendy didn't want to enter the horrible world of men when it was obvious that none of them would make her happy. She only wanted to be free of doing whatever she wanted. Nobody ever let her be what she truly was; a child.

"Look at you, she thought, complaining all the time. And talking to yourself."

She took a deep breath and concentrate on holding back her tears.

"Now, now, Wendy, everything will be all right. You always dreamed of having a family, you know, children! Oh, what's the point of lying, I don't want to grown up." She finally admitted.

Suddenly, something brown-orange caught her eye. Brown-orange hair. Brown-orange hair belonging to a young man taking a walk in the park. Wendy sensed a strong feeling of familiarity. She stood up and walked by the man.

"Excuse me sir"

He turned round to face her. She took a few seconds to study his features: bright and alert chestnut eyes, some freckles on the cheekbones and an inevitable grin. Not to forget the red-brown hair that complimented it all.

"Have we ever met before?" she asked politely for she was now certain of who he was.
