Walkies and Chats
So this is Zax fluff based on last night's ep, in a world where she didn't go to the conference and they didn't go to work!
Reviews welcome,

"Zoe… wake up…" max prodded his girlfriends' side.
"Hmmph?" Dr Hanna didn't do mornings.
"We have a canine guest." Max announced.
"Whaaa?" Zoe asked, still half-asleep.
Suddenly, something wet and foul-smelling was sniffing her neck. She shrieked.
"What the hell?" she sat up.
"Oh, hello Dervla." She said. The lurcher was sitting quite comfortably on her and Max's bed.
"She came in the night, I tried to shove her off but she wouldn't budge." Max informed her.
"Poor thing! She usually sleeps on Dylan's bed. I wonder why he shoved her out?" Zoe pondered.
Dervla shuffled up to Zoe and snuggled against her.
"Feeling abandoned are we?" Zoe laughed, petting the dog.
"Er? Hello? Don't I at least get a kiss?" Max scowled.
"Hmm" Zoe leant forward and gave him a kiss. "Did you sleep okay? Did Dervla snore?" she asked.
"Nah, she was fine. I slept okay, apart from when you started to sleep talk and confessed that you hate the chocolate brownies that Dylan made last week" her partner replied.
"Oh no" Zoe went red. "Don't you dare tell him" she continued.
"Your secret is safe with me"
Zoe frowned and sat back against the bed frame. "She knows she's not meant to be in here." She mused.
"Dervla, Dervla, listen to me. I won't be cross but I need you to tell me the truth: Did he send you in here?" she asked the dog. Dervla didn't look particularly bothered, and obviously could not reply to Zoe's question.
"Right, I'm having a word with him" Zoe decided.
"Maybe you should have this conversation when I'm not here" Max muttered.
"Dylan!" Zoe yelled.
After a brief conversation with her fellow doctor, Zoe still couldn't get Dervla out of her and Max's room.
"As much as I love her, I wish she'd go so we could have some time alone" Max muttered a while later. The pair were still in bed, Dylan had headed off to work.
"You don't love her, you are scared of her!" Zoe snapped.
"Alright, alright." He protested.
"Why don't we take her out for walkies?" Zoe suggested.
"Walkies?"
"Yeah, a nice big long walk." Zoe replied.
"Umm… okay, I suppose."
"Okay, I'll go and have a shower, you coming?"
"Obviously."
The pair showered and got dressed. Zoe finished applying her makeup and hunted for Dervla's lead, plus a few dog biscuits to keep the lurcher happy.
"Come on Max! Dervla, it's time for walkies!" Zoe called.
Dervla shot out from Max and Zoe's room immediately. "Hey lovely" Zoe gave Dervla a pat on the head and clipped the lead to the dog's collar.
"Sorry, I was hunting for some new batteries for my toothbrush." Max appeared beside her.
"It's okay, did you find some?" Zoe enquired as they stepped onto the jetty beside the boat.
"Yep" Max smiled, taking her hand and leading her back onto dry land.
They followed the river to the beach, Dervla stopping every now and then to sniff at this or that.
When they got to the beach, Dervla began to run.
"Ahhh!" Zoe was on the receiving end, Max had refused to walk Dervla because he was scared of her.
Max began to laugh at the sight of his girlfriend being pulled along by a very enthusiastic dog.
"Bad dog! No, Dervla! No!" Zoe protested, trying her best to yank the lead back so the dog would walk at a reasonable pace. Dervla began to run even faster, Zoe let go of the lead and ended up face down in the sand.
"Are you okay?" Max asked, making his way up to her.
"That bloody dog!" came Zoe's reply as she rolled over and put her hands out. "Pull me up" she ordered. Max obliged.
"Thank you" she smiled, then looked around for the dog.
"Where's she gone?" Max mused.
"There she is" Zoe pointed left slightly, and Max spotted Dervla play tug of war with a Collie dog.
"Dervla! Here girl!" Max called. Dervla bounded over.
"We can't keep living on Dylan's boat" Zoe mused later on as they made their way home, with fish and chips.
"Why?" Max enquired.
"Because," she replied, swiping a chip out of his hand, "we could be a proper couple and get our own place together."
"Really? Zoe, are you sure about this? We've only been back together a month"
"Sure I am. Why not?" Zoe asked with a smile.
"Okay, if you're sure?"
"I am!" she replied happily.
"At least we won't have Dylan pinching our things!" Max said happily.
"Yep! I hope we can still take Dervla out for a walk every so often though?" Zoe enquired.
"If I can see you fall flat on your face every time we go out with her then that's a promise!" Max laughed.
"It's not funny!" Zoe slapped him on the arm.
"It was! I love you Zoe Hanna, by the way."
"I love you too Max Walker" Zoe answered, and they kissed.
But they were interrupted by Dervla barking.
"No Dervla! Please don't chase after that cat!" Max said, but it was too late. Dervla dragged him across the road.
"Ha ha! Good luck!" Zoe chuckled.
