It was a beautiful day in China. The sun was bright, flowers were blooming, and not a cloud in the sky. It was just beautiful.
Behind a wealthy looking white Chinese house, a lizard-size red dragon was out raking flowers which had fallen from a cherry blossom tree with a small blue cricket laying on a rock with a hay in it's mouth.
"Sure!" The dragon, known as Mushu grumbled, "I'd agreed to do the yard work when they move here, but just because it's their daughter's birthday means that I have to work extra!" He exclaimed, throwing the raked flowers into the big pile of flowers next to him.
The cricket, known as Cri-Kee, laughed at Mushu's pouting face, nearly falling of his rock.
"Yeah well, you're lucky that it is Ming's birthday and she wants to see you at her birthday, otherwise, your antenna would be burn off by now." Mushu warned with a smug smile seeing Cri-Kee hold is two antennas down.
"Speaking of which, where is our little white haired princess?" Asked Mushu, looking around the garden, "I would've thought she would be excited for her birthday?"
Suddenly, a girl wearing a cache Hanfu dress with matching pants, white socks, and black flats, burst out of the pile flowers screaming, which made both the two animals screamed in fright and went to hold each other.
"HA! Got ya! Got ya!" The girl laughed, holding herself to keep her from falling.
True to Mushu's words, the girl, Ming's hair was all white with a few black strands in her two buns.
"Yeah, yeah," Mushu grumbled, dropping Cri-Kee to the floor and walking up to the still giggling Ming, "You're lucky it's your birthday, otherwise, those two rabbit ears on your head would've been burn off." That made her stop laughing and went to hold her buns.
"I thought as a guardian, you were suppose to protect her, not threaten her." Mushu winced when he saw Shang walked up with a glaring face at him.
"Ah...well Ming knew I was just kidding!" Mushu exclaimed hurriedly, before looking at Ming with pleading eyes.
Ming, always being strangely emphatic as always, nodded her head at her father.
"Well, guess which birthday girl is going to get her birthday present now?" Shang said with a smile as he knelled down to his daughter.
"Oh! Oh! Me! Me!" Ming said excitedly, while jumping up and down and waving her hand.
"Alright, alright, here it is." Shang said, before showing her a small brown bow with red and green flowers attach to a white vine design on it.
Ming stopped jumping with her mouth wide open and eyes wide when she saw the bow, while Mushu shook his head in disbelief.
"A bow? Honestly Pretty Boy, giving it to a 4-year old?" He said with disappointment, before he and Cri-Kee covered their ears when Ming gave out a high pitch scream before grabbing the bow, hugging it close to her while jumping up and down.
"Okay, okay." Shang said, picking her up, "Come on, your mother got your cake ready." Ming eye's widen. "Don't worry, I got it from a baker." Ming sighed in relief, knowing how her mother's cooking is not exactly the best.
Mushu sighed when he saw Ming and Shang walked into the house. "You know, I may not agree on how those two raise her, but I just love to see them happy." Cri-Kee chirped to agree, before both of them went to inside the house.
Author's Note: Okay! This is the beginning! Just a little insight on who Ming is. I promise I try to update as soon as I can!
