Black. All she could see was black. It added to the level of panic Susan Ashworth already had. Waking up realizing that she was walking in the streets a few moments ago, and now in a unfamiliar environment. Many thoughts crossed her mind on what situation she was in, and all of them were bad thoughts. The dark wasn't helping, and her brain was playing tricks on her, making here see things that weren't there. Instead of trying to calm down, she crouch and covered her eyes and ears, a defense mechanism against what her mind was making her see.
All of a sudden the lights came on. The sudden burst of light blinded her for a moment, but she quickly recovered. She scanned the area and found that she was in a small room. A small couch was seated in a corner, and a coffee table across from it. "Hello Susan, it's been a long time huh?" she turned to see a man standing in an archway. She recognized that man. Joe Davis.
"Joe? It's been so MANY years! I thought you were dead! Is it even possible for you to live this long?" Replied Susan. "You see Susan, I died. I tied the noose. Couldn't live with myself anymore, but I ended up making a deal with an old woman." He lowered his gaze to the floor. "I had to kill some people. Not the people you dealt with, but I know what you went through."
Susan cringed, wasn't the best times, but it made her who she was today, she was thankful. "Joe, I'm sorry you went through what I went through, but it's okay now. I'm with you Joe." She looked at him with a smile. And at that moment, Joe knew that it was meant to be. He pulled her into a tight embrace, which she gladly returned, and as she looked up and gazed into his eyes love blossomed. When their lips met it was perfect. They knew they were meant for each other.
