Hey, Daughter here.

Ok, so I watched God's not dead this weekend and man did I cry. I almost made a river leading to who knows where. And I came up with this idea while watching it so I hope you love it.

~~Mai's POV~~

"Mai" called a irritated Naru from his office door.

"Yes Naru" I called back without question or concern knowing he would be fine tomorrow, but still knew that he would be bitching all day.

"Can I see you in my office… NOW!" he yelled, closing his door behind him as he walked back into his office.

'Great, now what did I do' I thought as I walked up to the door of doom. As I walked in to the office, I noticed that Naru wasn't his desk.

SLAM! I swirled around to see Naru next to the door with his spread out hand on it. He lowered his hand to the doorknob and locked it.

"Mai, why do you have a cross in your office?" Naru asked in a threatening voice. I was speechless, so I said the only thing I thought I could.

"Thats what this is about?"

"Yes, yes it is, now answer my question" Naru hastily said while slowly walking toward me.

"Well its because I believe in him, simple as that" I said in pure honesty.

"Really, can you prove he exist" He asked

"No, I probably can't but I can explain a few things he has do for you and me"

"Then do it"

"Right now" I asked surprised, as Naru came closer, only 10 feet away now.

"Yes"

"Well, he let you meet me and Lin says that I am helping you slowly come out of your grievance for gene and he helped me find a new family."

"Explain to me who is this family you speak of" Naru is now only 5 feet from me.

"Bou-san in my dad, Ayako is my mom, Lin and Madoka are the grandparents, Masako and Yasu are the annoying siblings and John is the wise uncle" I said with pride and looked up at him because he was only a foot away. His face visibly fell, but his mask came back up.

"Ok explain why he took my brother away and your parents" Naru asked in a hushed tone and I saw his face scrunch up in pain at the mention of his brother. I did the boldest thing I thought I could do with him, I hugged him as tears fell from my face. He was too shocked to react, causing me to smirk against his soaked shirt, but it was a sad smirk.

"He did that so we could celebrate how much happiness is in heaven now and so we could meet." I said as he closed his arms around me "And I'm happy we did."

He broke down, slowly we fell to the ground and I comforted him till he stopped. Then we sat there for what seemed like forever.

"We better get to work, its already been 30 minutes" He said in a wobbly voice.

"I'll stay here for as long a I am needed and as long as you want" I said with deep concern.

"Its ok you can go, j-just remember that you brought out my happiness" he said, but I was hesitant to leave him and happy that he said that about me. I helped him up and sit in his chair. I walked to the door and just as I was leaving he called out saying "Hey Mai you never mentioned Where I fit in this family of yours?"

I didn't look back, but answered "Thats up to you, but I hope you choose wisely and that God helps you make the decision" I turned around and I felt a smile spread on tear stained face.

~~The next day~~

"Mai" called Naru from his door again.

"Yes" I called back with the slightest concern for both him and my job.

"Can I see you in my office" he called then closed his door.

'And there goes my job' I thought as I got up and crossed the room to the door that would take my job. Once inside I realized that there was a cross on the wall with the names Gene and Mai carved into it.

"Close the door" he said while standing up and walked to me. I closed the door and turned around to Naru standing right in front of me. He put his left hand on the door and said "I know where I fit in your family."

"Really, where" I was surprised I didn't stutter, he is so close.

"Your boyfriend" Before I could get over the shock of what he said he kissed me full on the lips. It took me about 3 seconds before I kissed back and my hand snaked up to his raven hair, deepening the kiss. His hand wrapped around my waist.

Once we ran out of breath, the kiss ended and he said "Mai"

"Yes, N-Naru"

"Thank you, for helping me see the truth"
