A/N: A Shizuo/Oc story. Just a small idea I had. Up for adoption if anyone happens to be interested. Enjoy!

Beep!

Shizuo took his phone and saw he had a message. Tom stopped walking. "Hey, what up?"
The blonde shrugged and resumed his walk. "Suzuki."
'Call me when you got time. I left Ikebukuro. Sorry I didn't tell you. I didn't know myself until an hour ago.'
The message was strange and aroused his confusion. He called her right away.

In a train leaving the city, a woman lazily leaned against the big window, watching the scenery unfold before her eyes. Her phone vibrated in her pocket and she clumsily took it, nearly dropping the device. "I didn't expect you to call immediately. Aren't you at work?"
"Yes, but Tom-san can do without me."
She smiled, crossing her legs. "Is that so?"
"Why are you leaving?"
Her smile dropped. "I'll warn you beforehand, don't crush the phone." He grumbled something in response. The woman sighed. "It's because of Izaya." She pulled the phone from her ear when he started screaming something about a stupid flea and homicide. "Oi, let me explain!"
"Tch."
"Nakuri met him and wants him dead. You know how she is… If she doesn't like someone, they'll probably be dead within 24hours. Shiki apparently found out, so he told me to get my ass out of this city, pronto. Said he needs him for a while longer."
"Define a while."
"Half a year. He said a few months, but I'm not taking any chances, really. I mean, sure, I could probably handle myself, but I'm not alone anymore. I just wanted you to know where I vanished."
"Are you coming back? You kept saying you travel as a hobby."
The woman sighed. "Obviously. Nakuri wants to fight you again, though I'm currently trying to talk her out of it. Sado and Ero miss you. They kinda…" Her voice suddenly changed, taking a sexy tint. "Wanted to say goodbye properly."
There was laughter on the other side of the phone. Suzuki smiled. Their relationship was complicated at best, but that was mostly her fault. Friends with benefits was probably what they could call themselves. She touched her ribs, recalling the pain she had been in for a week after their first 'night'. The two had afterwards understood how vulnerable their body actually was. Nakuri, however… Was an assassin. A fight with the strongest man in Ikebukuro had presented itself and she took it.
Shizuo also had several small bruises from their encounters, but that was hardly a problem for him. It had actually been some sort of welcome retribution. After all, very few people had managed to hurt him physically and even fewer women had taken the risk of going to bed with him. Needless to say, the number of those asking for seconds was even more limited.
"But when I'm back, we'll make up for it, I promise." she added, licking her lips. "And no worries, we will be back. After all, people always come back home… in the arms of a lover…"
"Home? Hmm, haven't heard that word leave your lips in a while." He was too used to her manner of speech. The woman pouted, not answering his question at first.
"Ikebukuro is the closest thing I've had to a home for a really long time. You are the closest thing I've had to a lover. Celti is the closest thing I've had to a friend. I don't care what happens. I will come back. Oh, shut up, bitches!" she snapped.
'You're saying too much.'
'Remind him of me!'
'And me!'
'It's a wonder you can stay so focused on that phone.'
"Do you fucking see anyone else here?"
"Sorry to interrupt your inner bonding. We'll talk later. Tom needs me." Shizuo said, handing his phone to his boss. Suzuki rolled her eyes as she heard a stranger's screams of pain. Her expression soon turned into pure pleasure when she started imagining what Shizuo was doing. She bit her bottom lip, moaning. "Yeah, that's it... I wanna hear him scream… I wanna see his blood… he's gorgeous covered in blood…'
'Disgusting, as always…'
'Erotic, in a way… What we did certainly was…'
'I don't think what he's doing is ok…'
'I wanna fight him again!'
'As if.'
"Huh? Still there?"
She had no idea for how long she'd been fantasizing. The blonde's voice broke her out of her reverie. She purred, his strength being a huge turnon for the more perverted of them. They hated weakness and all men had one. He didn't. There was not one single hair on his body they would dare call weak. He was strong. He could be brutal.
"Yeah…" she whispered breathlessly. "Quite a show you must've put out there, too bad we missed it."
Shizuo rolled his eyes. They kinda reminded him of Saika's children. "Yeah, a pity you had to leave."
"Most of us agreed that it was for the best. I like seeing others suffer. Feeling pain is not… pleasant. For me, that is."
"I know, I know."
"Laura would have loved you."
Inside her mind, all the others stirred, panic rushing over them. Nakuri went silent.
'Don't say that name!' was the collective call.
"Laura? I kinda remember that name…"
"Stronger mentally than hime… stronger than Nakuri in raw strength… More sadistic than me… More perverted than Ero… No, you haven't met her. We locked her together."
Shizuo went silent. He had heard a little from Suzuki herself, the main personality, that if Laura were to take over, chaos would result. The strongest personality. The most insane. And the youngest.
Suzuki's story had been very interesting to Izaya. Being a very shy girl, she had, since young, begun to develop different personalities for herself. She had started small. One different personality with a lot of self-confidence. Then another one who was very smart. Another nocturnal one.
Before she knew it, however, they started growing up on their own. They somehow gave up their initial traits and gained new ones. The smart personality became sadistic, using her medical knowledge for her twisted games. The confident one became slutty, being extremely sure that no man could resist her charms. The nocturnal one became a paid assassin.
As those grew that way, she kept creating different personalities in order to fulfill her social needs. She only realized she had to stop when she created a monster. A monster she could not handle on her own.
Most of the time, she could control the other personalities. They knew what they were and were resigned to it. However, Laura she could not control. She was a monster. A psychopath and a sociopath, a sadic and a masochist. Suzuki could hardly even remember why she'd made her. Oh, right, she'd watched a horror movie...
Worst of all, Laura did not obey her. She would take over at random inappropriate times and hurt innocent people. Even Nakuri feared her. Suzuki eventually locked her deep into her subconscious with the help of the others and cleaned her mind of all the useless personalities. Nevertheless, Laura was still there. Still alive. Still capable of returning.
Ero peacefully handed back control to Suzuki. The woman closed her eyes, glancing at Laura's whereabouts. Still there.
"She could even seriously hurt you."
"Doubt it."
Suzuki sighed. "I didn't neccessary mean physical pain." She took his silence as a nudge to continue. "She's worse than Izaya."
"Hmph, that flea's dead by the time you get here."
"And you in prison. No, just no!" she snapped.
'Didn't think you had it in you.'
'Ha, she's learning from us.'
'Hmm…'
"Shizuo, don't you dare ruin your life for that scum!"
"He's ruining mine periodically anyway!" he snapped back.
"Cuz he knows you wanna kill him! Do you even realize what awaits you then?"
"It's none of your goddamn business!"
'Oh, to hell with this!'
"Blondie, let's make a deal." Suzuki's voice had taken a new tone. Dangerous, yet lazy, with an erotic tint. She propped her feet on the empty chair facing hers.
"What?" Shizuo growled.
"I'm Ero, by the way. Guess you're too pissed off to notice. Anyhow. You don't touch him till I'm back, and, in exchange, Nakuri will put him in a sack of potatoes so you and Sado can have a little fun before she kills him. Then we can have sex with that guy finally out of your blonde mop." There was a short silence as the blonde apparently considered the offer. "Come on, it ain't a bad deal at all. Just keep it in till then."
"Fine."
"Arigato, Shizuo-kun!"
No, not Shizu-chan. Never Shizu-chan. She wasn't that stupid.
"You're welcome." he said boredly. "Anyway, talk to you later. Really gotta go this time."
"Alright, bye."
Suzuki closed her phone and kept her eyes on the scenery unfolding before her. She sighed, wondering what she would miss in her beloved Ikebukuro.
