"I'm sorry Belle. I can't stay." Jack whispered his lips inches from hers.
"But Jack-" She was cut off by his finger pressing to her mouth.
"I can't. A pirate's got to be free." He said pulling back from her.
"Ye got ta ya mean." She told him.
"I-I-I. Good-bye Belle." He studdered then walked up the gangplank leaving Arabella standing on the dock heart broken.
Last night you told her you could never hold her cuz a cowboys just got to be free.
Her heart was breakin'. Yours was achin'. But you saddled up and followed your dream.
Jack stood at the helm of the Pearl as they saild out of port.
"Don't look back. Don't look back. You'll regreat it." Jack told himself.
But he looked back anyway. He saw Belle hugging her cloak around herself and in the silver rays of the full moon thought he saw the sparkle of a tear running down her cheek.
Coffee on your campfire wind threw the barbbed wire ya huddled close to the flame.
Thow she's far behind you. The night land reminds you. It keeps on whisperin' her name.
Jack reached for the rum half-heartedly as he sat alone on the deck. Then the rigging suddenly snaped lose causing Jack to jump.
"Belle." The wind howled.
"Get out of my head!" Jack screached covering his ears.
You could make a run foreward for ever. Try to hide in a hole in the wall. Don't you know your arms are aching to hold her. Cowboy, even thow your ridein' tall. Your ridin' for a fall.
Jack alowed himself to drift off once or twice and durring that time he dreamed.
He dreamed of him standing at the helm of the Pearl with his arm snaked around Belle waist then a little girl ran up behind them who he scouped up in his arms and then placed his hat on her head.
Then he awoke to a slight shiver rinning up his back. He sat up leaning against the railing and pulled his coat tighter around. Thenhe pulled a warm rum bottle out of his pocket. Judging from the moon it was about midnight and on the weather it was the coldset night of the year. Jack moved to get comfrotable and realized that his back and neck were stiff from all the years at sea.
Midnight the moon's up. Hand around your tin cup. Frost settles in on the sage. The nights gettin' colder or man your gettin' older. Tonight your fellin' your age.
Jack sat there for another hour drowning his sorrows in rum. But even that didn't take his mind off her.
Why don't you turn back? Just saddle up and back track. You'll never find a love quite like hers. On a cold lonesome evnin', what the HECK gives you freedom. Don't ya think it's time you hung up your spurs.
He then realized he didn't want the danged rum, and that every thing was meaningless without her there next to him. He grabbed up the last full bottle and chunked it out into the cold black water. He felt his cheeks become hot and wet as her turned the Pearl back towards Tortuga.
You could make a run foreward for ever. Try to hide in a hole in the wall. Don't you know your arms are aching to hold her. Cowboy, even thow your ridein' tall. Your ridin' for a fall. Cowboy your ridin' for a fall.
This is my first songfic so dond be hatein'. And for those wanderin' where the little girl came from its from when I was little it made me think of my family when I was like six or seven and Pirates kinda think of Cowboys (Don't ask).
