Reid was in hell.

A yelling, screaming, loud hell with little kids and cotton candy. Actually, the cotton candy was pretty delicious, Reid thought, as he stuffed his mouth with his third cone. The kids and annoyed parents he could live without.

"Watch it!" he yelled with a mouthful of food as a woman carrying two kids ran over his foot with a stroller. There was a huge blue bear in the stroller.

The woman glared back at him, stressed beyond measure. Reid almost felt sorry for her.

Luke came up behind Reid, and grinned at the turmoil of panicked thoughts that were surely going through his boyfriend's head. "We're here to have fun, Reid, not be tortured."

"Really? I haven't been able to tell the difference lately…" said Reid flippantly.

Luke rolled his eyes. "Well, Dr. Oliver, what is "fun" to you? Besides cutting open people's brains, because I doubt there's going to be a booth that says "Whoever can cut into someone's skull with the most precision wins the grand prize!" Leave work at work, Reid!"

Reid groaned. "I'm only here for you, and-"

Luke looked kind of shocked, and grinned. "I love it when you're romantic!"

"I wasn't being romantic!"

"For you, that's romantic," Luke laughed.

"Hey, you want romantic, go back to Noah," Reid groaned.

Luke rolled his eyes and nudged him playfully. "Not on your life."

Reid sighed. What had he gotten himself into? Nonetheless, he planted a light kiss on Luke's lips. At least five people who happened to be watching looked away in disgust, while two kids looked on interestedly.

"Mommy, are they in love?" asked on little child.

The mom, embarrassed, said "No, sweetie, they're just very good friends."

Luke was indignant. He walked up to the child, and said gently, "Yes, we're in love, sweetie. It's a beautiful thing, love, and you can love whoever you want when you get older, okay?"

The mother was shocked. "Don't you dare talk to my daughter like that!"

"What, you wouldn't permit her to love whoever she wants?"

"There would be no need to. My daughter is normal."

Luke groaned. "I assure you, ma'am, both me and my boyfriend are perfectly normal people. Dr. Oliver here happens to be a world class neurosurgeon."

"Well, then, maybe he can change your brain back to normal mode."

"The only one with abnormal thoughts here is you, ma'am. I suggest you change your attitude- love is a beautiful thing, you know."

"That's not love!" the woman exclaimed. "That's- that's- "

"Love," Reid finished. Luke looked at him incredulously. He'd never declared his love like that publically before. He grinned, and kissed Reid chastely, but passionately. Reid blushed, but stood his ground. The child looked up at her mother.

"They look in love to me, mommy. Daddy kisses you like that, what's the difference between that love and this love?"

Reid and Luke grinned. "You are wise beyond your years, young lady ," said Luke. "What's your name?"

"I'm Tasha," said the girl. "And my mommy is Ignorant."

Reid grinned. "I like this kid," he said to Luke.

Luke smiled. "That doesn't happen very often." He laughed. "How about I get you an ice cream cone?"

Tasha smiled. "Mommy said not to take food from strangers. I like you, though. I hope you have a nice day!" She skipped off. The mother glared at Luke and Reid, and then ran after her daughter.

Luke laughed. "She's just a little ball of sunshine, isn't she?"

Reid kissed Luke on the cheek. "I could say the same for another person."

"Well aren't you the romantic today!"

"Don't push it."

Luke grinned, and grabbed his boyfriend's hand. "Come on, I'll race you to the love tunnel."

"I thought I told you to not push it?"

"Since when have I ever listened to anything you say?" Luke began to run, knowing Reid would follow.

Reid crossed his arms, and sighed. Then he started to run. There were just no limits when it came to Luke.
