Disclaimer: Same old, same old. Don't own them, wish I could, probably a good thing I don't. As I said, same old same old. Summary: The hardest word for Elizabeth to say!...This is very Sparky (I think so and hope so)and very...fluffy? Eh...I don't know! Authors note: This came to me while I was trying to write a sequel toThe Way It Should Have Been. Don't ask me why. I don't know how my brain works! The plot bunnies attack! This is pure rambling rubbish. You can count this as my first Atlantis fic if you want, but I don't think I will!

GO

Before coming to the Pegasus Galaxy Dr. Elizabeth Weir never thought that the word 'go' would be so hard to say. Every time she said it, she always ended up with more heartache.

The first time that she truly regretted it was, during the siege of Atlantis, when John wanted to fly the Puddle Jumper into the Wraith Hive ship. She really thought that he wasn't coming back that time. That was when she came to the conclusion that she cared about him more than she really should.

The next time was when that damn retro-virus had been turning him into the frightening half Wraith, half Iratus bug. When he attacked her, in his quarters, was when she really thought he wasn't coming back. Then when Beckett discovered that only John himself could enter the bug cave, and that there was a chance that the inhibitor wouldn't last long enough, she had to let him go with out knowing if she would ever see the human Sheppard ever again.

There had been acountless number of times she had to use the word 'go' and every time she wished that she hadn't. She supposed that every time he went on a mission through the Gate that there was a chance that he wouldn't come back. But every time that Elizabeth said it, it never got any easier to say.

"Hey"

She looked up. There he was, with his flyboy grin.

"We're ready to go" he said.

She smiled and got up from her desk. As she walked into the control room John started towardsthe Gate level but shestopped him.

"John," she almost whispered. "Come back safe."

He smirked as he answered,

"I'll try."

After the wormhole had formed, andhis team had headed through, he looked up and grinnedbefore he stepped into the Event Horizon. It washis promise, to her, that he'd return.

She understood that she could never stop him from going through the Stargate. She didn't think that she would ever even to attempt to stop him. It was what he lived for and as long as they found some way to defend themselves she knew that she would have to put up with her least favorite word.cThe word 'go'.

I don't think I can write any long fics. Oh Well! You'll all have to put up with my short incoherent stories. LOL! I'll try to do longer, less rubbish fics. As I said...I still refuse to call this my first Atlantis fic! -SGC
