Music to the scene: watch?v=FPWEJMGxTBs

They sit together on an old log, staring out into the endless sea. The sound of the water rushing in and the gulls cawing overhead create the background music to a moment of peaceful perfection. They are each in their own little world. But after a few moments of silence, she decides that something needs to be said. Without breaking her view from the sight, she speaks to him.

"I wonder where these coconut trees come from? Tarin says there is nothing beyond the sea, but I believe there must be something over there...when I discovered you, Link, my heart skipped a beat! I thought... this person has come to give us a message." She looks at him and smiles, timidly but genuinely. then lets the silence return. She needs it to gather her thoughts, but not for long. "If I was a sea gull, I would fly as far as I could! I would fly to far away places and sing to many people!... If I wish to the Wind Fish, I wonder if my dream will come true?"

The silence lingers for a few more moments. She looks at him once again to continue and sees his gaze far away, as if he is swimming away from here in his soul. She frowns, her cheeks flushing slightly pink. "Hey! Are you listening? Liiink, are you listening to me?!"

He breaks his eyes from the water and into hers, laughing softly. "Yeah."

She huffs, turning her eyes this time toward the wide open skies. "I want to know all about you... er... uh... ha ha ha!" The blush is slightly darker now. Luckily, he seems to be unaware.

"The Walrus wants you to go to him," he says.

For the last time, she turns her head to him, looks into his eyes and sees the fire in them again. The desire for adventure. It is then that she comes to accept it. She knows what must be. "Hunh? The Walrus wants me to go him? It doesn't matter. I will go with you to him."

The two rise to their feet, her hand naturally metting his, their fingers linking together. He takes a moment of silence as if contemplating this, then nods to her and grins from ear to ear. He looks so innocent. Hand-in-hand, the two turn toward Koholint Island and begin to walk into that vast realm of dreams, together for as long as fate would allow it.

And for a time, she was happy.

Author's Note: Okay, that was bloody cool. Not complimenting my own writing - I'm not that much of an egomaniac. Rather, the process of writing it. The song I linked at the beginning just sort of brought this scene into my head from the game and I just... listened. Listened and typed without really thinking about what to say, and boom. Out goes my first piece of writing in almost a year, just when I thought I was done with this kind of stuff. Funny, isn't it? I hope you guys enjoy this little blurb as much as I enjoyed getting to write it.
