Your marriage was unexpected. No one, not even Neji himself, saw it coming. Your personalities were very different, and you where very outspoken. This led everyone to believe you two would never be a couple despite your obvious attraction to Neji. You sat on the couch, popping dango into your mouth already half way through the pile Neji had brought home only moments ago. You would normally be working however you were no longer allowed in the Hokage tower. Hokage's secretary or not Tsunade had you house ridden due to your sudden forgetfulness, something that had been suddenly brought on by pregnancy. This forgetfulness resulted in you forgetting to tell your boss about your pregnancy till you were 2 and a half months along.
During this time you had also started craving dango, and now at 6 months you ate them on an hourly basis. Which was surprising to most as your favorite food was takoyaki. But what was unsurprising was that your usual outspoken personality had turned you into a whining 5 year old, complaining about anything and everything. Many people felt bad for your spouse as he had to handle you, being a ninja, and getting ready for a baby. However Neji seemed to handle the pressure just fine after he realized what not to say and do around his pregnant wife.
"Neji!" You whined at your partner. "I when are you going to get back from your mission tomorrow? I need a constant stream of dango."
"It should only take about a week [Name], don't worry I've handled it. Hinata-sama will come everyday to spend time with you." Neji picked his words carefully knowing full well if he used the words 'help' or 'take care of' you would be sure to take it as an offence either to your pride as a future mother or your personal strength.
He sat down next to you and pulled you into his lap, playing with your hair he added. "But until then, I'm all yours." You giggled as he wrapped his arms around you placing his hands under your stomach. Relaxing into his arms you corrected him. "You mean ours." He smiled at you as he remembered fighting with Naruto about waiting to go out on the mission so he might spend more time with you. They had come to a compromise to wait a night longer and then they where off, early in the morning long before your usually wake. Kissing the purple-eyed man on the nose you started a discussion on your child.
"She'll have my [y/e/c] and your brown hair!" You declared however Neji was quick to disagree.
"No she'll look just like me! And I'll have to kill all the boys who even dare glance her way!" Patting your belly you quickly reassured your baby girl that you would save the boys from your father. So long as she filled her mother in on all her crushes.
Neji put in the movie of your choice grunting about you and your chick flicks. The entire movie he made comments about acting and the stupidity of the characters as he held you. Little did he know that the real reason you loved watching these movie was because of his comments.
In the morning he awoke to bacon and pancakes in front of him. He glanced to his clock and realized you had waken up early so that you could make him breakfast. Giving you a loving smile he dug in to your delicious food. You discussed going apple picking and painting your baby girl's room when he got back, maybe planting a garden. He planned on fixing the leak in your house that often rained right through the roof into your room. This way the both of you could sleep in peace. You also spoke of going to look for a crib while he was away. He left after giving you a kiss and saying "I love you [Name]. I'll see you and Tenki soon." You waved till he left view with a smile on your face you walked into your house. You couldn't wait for your husband to return.
