Cartman ran as fast as he could, the fifteen year old was sure he'd lose another 3 pounds on top of his already lost 20 for how hard he was running. He was having a panic attack, he had heard on the news that morning about the horrors of what was about to come. It had been five years today. Trent Boyett was being once again released from Juvenile Hall.
He was panicking as he ran, Stan's house was the closest. He ran to the very dark green house and banged on the door as loud and hard as he could.
"Stan! Stan! STAN open the f*** up!" Cartmas begged. He then noticed a piece of paper sticking out beneath the welcome matt. Cartman frowned not liking this in the least bit as he took the paper from the matt, seeing it was a note and he began to read it.
Dear Kyle,
After hearing news of Trent Boyett being released from Juvi, I decided to hide out until I can come up with a safety plan. I tried to get to you but you weren't home yet, and I'm sorry, but I just can't risk it. I'll let you know that I'm in the place we found the summer after first grade. I hope to see you soon, Kyle… please be safe.
Your super best friend,
Stan
"How gay!" Cartman exclaimed in rage. He couldn't help but feel jealous of how close Stan was to his crush… He mentally cursed himself for his feelings again. He just didn't understand why or how, but he had feelings for Kyle… the adoration for his red hair and his emerald eyes, the way puberty gave him a body that just was NOT like it had been… it stirred something from deep within Cartman… he slowly realized why he had "hated" Kyle so much… he genuinely cared about what he thought, so when kyle was rude and hateful, it made him angry… because he didn't want kyle to hate him at all. Stan always got to be there for Kyle the way Cartman wish he could be… now that he completely understood his feelings of love for Kyle, it really complicated his life.
He immediately snapped himself out of his deep thinking. Trent was on his way and he had to move. He didn't want to think he would have to go to Kyle's house and beg his crush for mercy… but he had no choice. Cartman crumbled the note, dropped it, and ran to Kyle's house and began banging on the door hard.
"Kyle! Sweet mother Mary, let me in! I am begging you!" Cartman yelled, in only a few seconds, Kyle's slender hand opened the door, his sparkling emerald eyes meeting Cartman's chocolate brown eyes. Cartman felt his eyes skip a beat the way it normally did when he noticed how more full and pink Kyle's lips were.
"What do you want, fatass?" Kyle asked.
Cartman thought he heard a noise and didn't even bother to answer as he pushed his way into Kyle's house, slammed the door and locked all 3 locks, then running to the curtains closing them.
"Is there anyone else home!?" Cartman demanded as his eyes searched the house.
"No, Cartman. Mom and Dad took Ike to Denver for some Canadian Pride Convention or something, so they're letting me stay the whole weekend alone. I've been studying tips for and looking at practice tips for the SATs all day." Kyle explained motioning to the coffee table where his green apple computer open, a container of his favorite extra sugar gingerbread latte with whipped cream from Harbucks-Tweak Coffee division and various notes. Stan must have tried to find Kyle while he was out getting the coffee.
"I swear on my mother's life if I had any time, I would be laughing my ass off and making so much fun of your nerdiness right now. But we've got big problems. I'm guessing that you haven't turned on the news today, either." Cartman commented still looking around hoping to find something that can be used as a protective weapon.
"No, I haven't, and I am not a nerd!"
"Yes, you so are, Jew. But that's not the point! Trent Boyett just got released from Juvi."
"What."
"I'm serious! Turn on the news!"
The fifteen year olds ran to the couch and turned it to South Park News. Their favorite Asian lady to make fun of was reporting from outside Hell's Pass Hospital. Usually, all four boys would watch and point out how her eyes were crossed or how sometimes she didn't wear a bra and her boobs would be pointed in opposite directions or how there would be runs in her stockings or how her hair would be cut uneven. But there was no time.
"Unfortunately, Leopold Butters Stotch has been shot in his stomach three times while at the South Park Community Center Gym. The doctors say there were no serious organs that were hit, however it could be awhile before he can recover fully and properly heal." Kyle muted the TV as his face turned pale.
"T-Trent has a gun?" he managed to squeak out.
"This isn't good. This really isn't good."
They heard a hard knock at the door and both hit the floor to hide from sight.
"OPEN UP!" the voice was clearly Trent's.
Kyle's lip was beginning to tremble. Cartman had the first impulse to hold him, but then shook it off, knowing protecting him was much more important than anything else. Cartman crawled close to Kyle and whispered in his ear quietly.
"We need to get upstairs… now. There's some weapons in the back of your closet wall that I hid in there in case of an emergency. We need to go, now."
In any other case, Kyle would've demanded why Cartman kept anything in his closet, let alone weapons, but he had a higher instinct to survive instead of argue.
The two quickly and quietly as they could ran up the stairs and into Kyle's closet to the back where a barely visible tin quare line could barely be seen behind the skateboard Kyle never used, where Cartman took a piece of the dry wall out and inside were knives, guns, and even money. He took out two pistols and cocked them, handing one to Kyle.
"If he tries anything, we'll shoot the f*** out of him." Cartman assured him.
"I'm terrified Cartman." Kyle admitted his eyes filled with panic.
"We'll be f-" He stopped short as he checked his bullets, that for some reason just didn't have them anymore. Cartman took the gun from Kyle and checked the also empty bullets. He felt his heart drop into his stomach and thought he was going to be sick.
"Oh no… what are we going to do?!" Kyle said his eyes watering with tears.
Then they heard a gunshot and the front door slam open.
"Cartman what the f*** are we going to do!?" Kyle hissed. Immediately, Cartman got an idea that might actually work.
"Kyle… things are about to get weird, but I think that it's the only way that we can survive without getting hurt. I know you hate me, but I need you to trust me." Cartman begs.
"As long as you're sure…"
Cartman grabbed him by the shoulders and forced his lips against Kyle's the way he always imagined. Kyle almost pushed him away, but Cartman held him in place and forced his tongue into his mouth. He felt the blush creep into both their cheeks as Cartman began to coax his tongue. To his shock, Kyle was even beginning to respond and kiss back. Cartman quickly removed their coats and shirts as he kissed harder. He could feel their arousals pressing against each other through their pants and he pushed Kyle onto his bed as he continued to touch Kyle caressingly. He unzipped Kyle's pants and began to pull them down and crawled to his knees as Kyle began to breathe heavier.
They slowly heard Kyle's bedroom door open.
"HOLY SH*T! WHO'D HAVE THUNK YOU WERE FAGS!?" Trent yelled in shock at the erotic scene before him. Cartman took this chance to grab the empty gun on the ground and threw it straight between Trents's eyes, breaking his nose on impact and causing him to drop his own gun, a shot being sent down the hallway.
Cartman then took his chance and began to mercilessly beat Trent senseless using his adrenaline from his make out section with Kyle to instead beat Trent. Kyle came out of his lustful daze and pulled his pants back on putting on his clothes trying to make sense of what was happening in front of him.
"Call the cops, Jew!" Cartman yelled as he continued to fight and beat Trent.
Kyle didn't need to be told twice. He ran downstairs to the phone and called the police and quickly explained the situation, leaving out the part about him making out with his long time enemy and now sexual confusion. He also made sure to grab some rope from the downstairs closet and ran back up the stairs helping Cartman tie up the now unconscious Trent.
Slowly Cartman breathed heavy, exhausted and sweaty. He felt Kyle slowly wrap his arms around Cartman's shoulders. Cartman grabbed and squeezed Kyle's hand before letting go and they stood up.
"Cartman… are we going to talk about what happened in there?" Kyle asked quietly, still feeling very confused.
"There's nothing to talk about. I knew that without weapons we didn't have a chance against Trent unless we had the element of shock. So I came up with the first shocking thing that came to my mind, and it worked." Cartman explained calmly. He wasn't ready to come out of the closet yet, and he didn't know what to do about his own feelings yet, let alone how Kyle would feel about it.
"Oh. Well, good. That was like… super gay… really, really super gay…" Kyle said trying hard to hide his blush, wondering if he himself was now super gay. He liked kissing Cartman, a lot more than he should have…
As the cops finally arrived, ready to arrest Trent for attempted murder of Leopold Butters Stotch, they reported what the boys said and took him away where he'd be imprisoned for fifteen years.
"Well… I guess we're safe until we're thirty. What are we going to do when he gets out, Cartman!?" Kyle said worried.
"Dude, that's like fifteen years away, who gives a crap."
"I don't know, man… It's just, he's dangerous… he tried to murder Butters."
"We'll be okay… I know we will." He looked to Kyle his eyes filled with a silent promise.
"Uh, thanks, for coming to save me and sh*t, fatass. I appreciate it."
"Whatever Jew, You just happen to live close to me and Stan wasn't hom- OH F*** I FORGOT ABOUT STAN. Oh shit, what was the place you and him found the summer after first grade!?"
"Oh, that's the abandoned treehouse in the woods a few blocks from Kenny's house. Why?"
"That's where Stan is hiding from Trent, he left you a note under his doormat, I guess he thought you'd run to him, but I got there first and found this." He handed Kyle the note.
"I guess we should go get him and tell him it's safe to come back." Kyle said after finishing. So that's what the two did, explaining the story to Stan once again leaving out their little scene together before immediately returning home safely.
"We should tell Kenny it's safe, too." Kyle said as they reached his house.
"Yeah, you're right, Kyle." Stan remarked as they walked up to his house knocking on the door. Slowly, Cartman noticed a brunette half naked girl climb out of Kenny's bedroom window and run off. He recognized her highlights immediately.
"Tammy?" He whispered quietly. Finally they walked in and walked into Kenny's room finding him naked and dead, seeming to once again die of Syphilis from Tammy Warner.
"Oh my god, someone killed Kenny!" Stan yelled.
"Those bastards!" Kyle responded.
"Oh shut up. He'll be back tomorrow trading Syphilis with Tammy again and you all know it. It's been fifteen freaking years, stop acting so damn shocked." Cartman remarked annoyed as they all left.
As they all three walked back to their respectable homes, Kyle's was the first they reached. Kyle fist bumped Stan and met eyes with Cartman. Neither one could get each other's lips off their minds. The way they blended, the way they moved together and how for a minute… they may not have been trying to shock Trent.
"Night, fatass." Kyle said hoping he wasn't blushing.
"Sweet dreams, Jew." Cartman responded hoping the same. Slowly, Kyle finally turned around and walked into his house that had now been cleaned by the police.
"Uh… what was that about?" Stan asked as they continued to walk.
"What do you mean?"
"Dude… you and Kyle had like, a look. What the hell else happened today?"
"Not a goddamn thing, you hippie. Now get home and call your bitch, her tampon probably expired or something." Cartman stated simply as he continued to his own home, as Stan went into his house.
Cartman climbed upstairs into his own room and laid down in his bed. He looked at the phone next to his bed. Should he just call and tell Kyle? As his hand almost touched the phone, a knock was heard at the front door. Cartman quickly went downstairs to open it to Kyle, who had an overnight bag and sleeping bag in his arms.
"What are you doing here? I thought you went home."
"Well, there's been a lot of bad memories there today, and I uh… I didn't want to stay alone tonight since my parents are still gone, you know?"
"I guess… But uh… why'd you pick my house instead of Stan's?" Cartman asked hating himself for sabotaging himself.
"I don't know… I just, I just don't want to stay with him tonight. I knew your mom was still in Vegas because of what you said in school two days ago, so I thought you might not want to be alone either. I brought all the Terrence and Phillip movies from my house." He held up the disks as proof.
"I though your mom hated Terrence and Phillip."
"…She doesn't know everything I do…"
"You little rebel, hiding your Terrence and Phillip. I bet you're hiding Playboy, too!" He snickered at his own joke. He held in the comment about, or is it Chippendales?
"So… can I stay tonight?" Kyle asked, his eyes shining like green gems in the dark.
"Yeah, sure, Kyle." He let her in and shut the door. As Cartman made a bowl of homemade popcorn while Kyle set up the movie and changed into short green shorts and a black tank top, shaking up his hair not even sure why he was trying to look so nice, thankful of how he had his once afro thinned out and simple wavy shoulder length locks. He grabbed his sleeping bag and snuggled up on the couch waiting for Cartman to join him.
After a few minutes, Cartman returned with popcorn and without a word started the movie. Only Kyle really watched and ate though while Cartman kept sneaking looks at him in his skimpy pajamas. He bit his lip trying to cover himself with a blanket and push out images of them making out from earlier. As they Kyle grew more tired he fell asleep and eventually moved in his sleep where he was practically in Cartman's arms. The brunette slowly wrapped his arms around Kyle and fell asleep as well.
In the morning, Kyle and Cartman woke up, Kyle got his things together and left for his own home without a word between them, never speaking of it again. It would be another two years before they'd begin to date and progress further in their relationship.
