She didn't tell him at first. She did everything she could to hide it from him knowing full well that he would take it badly. He hated that part of himself. The wolf. The monster in him. She knew he would hate himself for making her a monster too, so she didn't tell him. Not at first, anyway.

As one week turned into two it got harder and harder to keep it from him. Mitchell knew. He tried to get her to tell George the truth before he found out on his own. He told her she wouldn't be able to keep it from him forever. Once the first change came he would smell it on her. That kind of freaked her out a little.

She thought about moving away but running had never been her thing. When it came to fight or flight she usually picked fight, it caused some problems but it had served her well in the past, so why change things now? Then there was Annie, the ghost who she did and didn't know. Apparently they had met before, kinda sorta.

This was going to take some getting used to.

Mitchell had explained a few things to her. He didn't know everything; he couldn't know everything. There were some things you just had to experience. The first change was one of them. He said it was going to hurt though; hurt like hell.

And then some.

She was going to need George to get her through it.

George had had no one to get him through it.

He had been alone.

For months no one had been there for him.

Alone.

Scared.

Then Mitchell came and he was no longer alone. Annie came later. Nina thought there was some raunchy joke in there somewhere. A werewolf, a vampire and a ghost walked into a bar……

Nina didn't want to be alone.

She didn't want George to be alone.

The truth was neither of them needed to be alone anymore.

None of them did.

Two werewolves, a vampire and a ghost…..

Maybe a limerick?

It was finally fear that made her tell him. Days before the change happened. She told him. He reacted like they all thought he would. He blamed himself. He hated himself. He called himself a monster. Mitchell was about to intervene when Nina did something unexpected. She growled at him. She outright growled.

No one could tell you what happened after that. Years later Mitchell and Annie joked at how George yelped like a little girl when Nina pounced on him, Mitchell and Annie say that they went at it right then and there George and Nina say it never happened like that. No one knows for sure though.

All anyone knows, the children that George and Nina had, the grand children they had is that George and Nina made it through together. It wasn't easy; George still had guilt and pain to work through and Nina was still Nina.

Two werewolves, a vampire and a ghost…..

Maybe a riddle?
