"Now tell me what this one is." Shaun's dad said talking to the ten year old, blind-folded, Shaun.

"Hmm, is it mustard?" Shaun asked, wrinkling his nose at the ghastly stench.

"Excellent Shaun! Now the key to great detective work is relying on your other senses too, not just your sight," Mr Spencer rambled, "Now come with me and I'll give you another smell to try and discover what it is." Reluctantly, Shaun followed his dad through the arch-way into the lounge (which was decidedly hard since Shaun was blindfolded).

"It's weeks-old chocolate milk and broccoli." Shaun said seeming proud until he realized his secret was foiled.

Pulling the blindfold off his embarrassed son's head, Mr Spencer said, "And how long did you expect this to last. Spilling chocolate milk and dropping broccoli under the couch and not telling me. And even worse, not cleaning it up. Honestly Shaun!"

"But how did you find out?" Shaun whispered.

"Well, like I said, great detective work comes from using your other senses too. Now clean it up!"

A defeated Shaun trudged out into the kitchen to grab a mop and a dust-pan and brush, to clean up his mess.
