A Sweet Melody
Prologue
Outside an old building, in a large city, stood two children, one with white hair, and the other with brown hair, who war wrapped in a blanket. The white-haired child knocked on the door frantically, while the other was coughing up a storm. The white-haired child stopped for a minute and waited. The two stood out there for a very long time.
"Forget it Gil," spoke the coughing child, her voice weak from the sickness she had. "Old Fritz can't help me, I'm too sick."
"No Lizzie, we need to find you help." the boy bluntly stated.
"Gilbert, you need to go home, you have a family, they'll be worried, and I need to get somewhere where Sadiq won't find me." The girl whispered between coughs.
"Fine... we'll try tomorrow..."
"Ok, we'll meet here tomorrow."
"Be safe Lizzie." the boy said before running off.
There they went their separate ways. The girl walked down several alleyways until she reached a make-shift shelter. She quickly went inside and grabbed her bag of things, then set off for a place to hide. She searched high and low, but nowhere seemed like a suitable enough place to hide. It was getting dark and she was getting sicker and sicker with every moment. She couldn't move on. She eventually collapsed near the sidewalk, in an alleyway.
She looked at the world around her and she closed her eyes, for what she thought would be the last time. Oh well, she thought, At least I can join Anya[1] and Apa[2] tonight. Then she felt warmth and a pair of arms carry her before she slipped into nothingness.
Author's Note: OMG, why do I like making main characters' parents die? And then there's always this depressing prologue... I promise, the next story I do, the prologue won't be as depressing... Anyways... I'm starting ANOTHER story... man I really need to stop getting ideas for stories... Anyways... what do you guys think of this?
Translations: [1] Anya – Mom
