The Birthday Gift

What do you get for a girl that has everything? Marceline wondered as she looked at the invitation again. It was getting close to time to go, and still she had no ideas on what to get her girlfriend that would be considered a normal type birthday gift. Sighing she put on a long sleeved jacket and her big sunhat and decided to go in search of the perfect gift.

No not that Marceline thought as she studied the colorful glass figurine again. She was at the outdoor market in Ooo searching for a gift. Then something caught her eyes. It was a tiny black puppy inside a cage beside a vender selling leather goods. Marceline stooped down to look closer at the small animal inside the cage. It was a tiny black fuzzy puppy. Calling it closer she stretched out a gloved hand to pet the tiny animal.

"Oh you're so sweet!" Marceline crooned as she gently rubbed the puppy's head softly.

"Do you like her?" The stooped old vender asked coming closer to Marceline.

"Yes I think I do. I think she would be just perfect for a close friend that I have. What are you asking for her?" She asked still petting the puppy.

"Hmm well for you I will take five gold coins. That will cover the cost of her cage as well." The old man said

"No I don't need that I'll just take her if you don't mind." She reached in her jean pocket and pulled out five shiny coins and handed it to the man. Then opened the door and took the puppy out cradling it against her chest.

She stopped on her way and picked a bouquet of colorful wild flowers before she reached the Candy Kingdom. "This is going to be a great day." she told the puppy that she had named Midnight smiling to herself. "Bonnie is going to be so surprised when she gets a look at you."

Marceline walked onto the castle grounds and followed the party noise to the back lawn, having hidden the puppy in an inside pocket of her jacket. She spotted Bonnie and walked up to her. "Happy birthday Princess." She said to her handing her the flowers then hugging her close. The puppy squeaked being crushed between them. Marceline backed off.

"What was that Marcy?" She asked looking at her girlfriend.

"What was what? I didn't hear anything." Marceline said as the puppy squeaked again and started to wiggle.

"What do you have Marcy? I know you have something in your jacket. Because it doesn't move like that normally. Now what is it?" Bonnie asked the vampire.

Marceline stepped back a little to give herself room as she reached inside her jacket and pulled out the tiny wiggly black puppy. "Happy Birthday Bonnie, this is for you." She said handing her the excited puppy.

"Oh Marcy! She's perfect!" Bonnie said hugging the tiny warm fuzzy body close to her. "I love her!"

"I named her Midnight since she's as dark as midnight but you can change it if you want." Marcy said smiling at her girlfriend.

"No it's perfect. It fits her perfect. You're perfect." Bonnie said as she leaned into her girlfriend kissing her, hiding their faces within the wide brim of the hat.

"Oh this isn't all of it. I have something planned for you later tonight." Marcy whispered in Bonnie's ear.

"I can't wait." Bonnie said stealing another kiss before backing away.

"Huh… wonder what they where whispering about?" Finn asked Jake.

"Hmm… probably kissing." Jake said giggling.

"What?" Finn asked puzzled

"Nothing man it's just girl talk nothing to worry about. Let's go home." Jake said still smiling.
