The Little Train That Wouldn't
The little train chugged along life's railway at a happy pace, the rail strait and smooth. Then she can to a hill and stalled.
She thought to herself, "I think I will, I think I will," but she never did. She simply huddled at the base of the hill, too frightened to climb the hill. Others passed her by and asked if she need help, but she refused.
She was so frightened, but she couldn't tell anyone why. She knew she was being silly and told herself so every time she refused to go up the hill. It never helped.
Slowly, she began to slide down a sloping track, taking her farther from the hill and into a deep ravine.
The others saw her falling and tried to help her, but she refused, thinking that it was her fault. She had to fix it by herself, and she was scared of what the others would think of her if they found out she couldn't save herself.
Her slide quickened until the railroad gave out and she plunged to the depths of the ravine.
I am the little train that wouldn't.
Can anyone help me?
Can anyone see past my lies? See that everything is not 'all right'?
I don't know how to explain my fears. I'm too afraid to explain my fears to anyone.
What can I do before I hit the bottom?
I think I've fallen too far to get back up by myself….
Will no one ignore my protests and help me?
Save me, please.
