A/N Just a (very) little something to try and explain what happened to the Lingering Will. I hope it's not terrible.

"Ngh... Who are you?"

In front of him, in his way, was a suit of armor. He had almost succeeded in tearing their hearts from their bodies, but like a mirage, it was just there. Somehow when that girl had called out, I was able to make it move again.

"Got you. Xehanort."

It managed to speak, and against all odds it was still "my" voice.

"This is impossible!"

Of course, there was no way it was "Terra", though it shared my armor. But there was no way armor could move without a host, either. It frustrated Xehanort to no end that even now, twelve years later, I was still putting up a fight.

"How I've waited for this moment."

Through the darkness, there was a glimmer of satisfaction. That I could even feel anything should have been impossible. Xehanort pushed the armor off and we flew off in a flurry of strikes and parries.

The fight was intense, with every successful blow from one sending the other flying. A particularly powerful hit from the armor struck Xehanort across the chest and his back slammed into the rocky pillars around them.

"My will is unbreakable. You'll see me triumph over the darkness once and for all, and I will return to the realm of light."

"You can struggle all you like, but your heart has already lost its battle with darkness! And you will return to me!"

With those words, he swung his Keyblade outward, breaking the armor into pieces. It collapsed, defeated. The remains crumbled into dust, the wind pushing it into us.

"Hmph. The final piece surrenders at last. This marks the end of your meaningless rebellion."

My mouthpiece gone, I can no longer respond.

But I can feel my fingers twitch. Just a little, but enough for me to notice.

These bonds were no longer as tight as they had been in the past.

I will... set this right.
