It was finally over. The battle that seemed to stretch for decades was finally done. There were loses to both sides but midoriya couldn't have asked for a greater outcome. They were alive, beaten and bruised, but still breathing.
He could finally relax as the exhaustion set in when the adrenaline was gone. Everything ached and he meant everything, even the places that shouldn't be sore felt sluggish. 'I could take a nap right about now,' he looked at the friends who stood by his side, the were all dead tired, 'a really long nap, indeed.'
"Shithead Deku! Get you ass up and help the more wounded!"
'..Kaachan, always the hardworker. '
"...midoriya."
My legs shook as I straightened up and look to todoroki-kun. 'Come on midoriya, where's that smile to ease the tension, your a hero. Act like it!' Right, the smile, almost forgot. It was so much harder to pull the muscles for a smile, everything hurt, god it hurt so bad.
Taking those next steps after was such a relief, I was done and I had helped. That's all that mattered. Next was the aftermath and I knew I could deal with that too, just a few more steps and then I'll rest.
One step...two steps...a stumble..and a pain so sharp and quick there wasn't even time to scream. My body felt like glass breaking under pressure. Creaks from before finally caving in or trying to explode out. I was swaying the suddenly on my knees. All the feeling in my body was draining away. I felt so tired.
There's bug buzzing in my ear and I'm too tired to swat at it, but it's not a bug because todoroki's right there, in front of my face, yelling at me. I think. He sounds muffled and he keeps shoving me. Kaachan there too looking way too place for his normally flushed and agitated face.
Haha they look so weird and even without feeling it I know I'm finally smiling.
I'm so tired and it's time for a nap. They're both there with me so I know it'll be okay. I'm relaxed with them there and it's no time at all before I finally close my eyes.
