A/N: I came up with this while I was sat out in a PE lessons, so this could be slightly rushed and crappy, but I thought it was good. Enjoy:)
L looked at Light in his detective way, trying desperately to deduct if he was Kira or not. He seems too innocent right now...Could he even really be...?
'No.' L thought. 'He is definitely Kira.' He finished. 'There isn't any other explanation.' He added. 'Maybe guilt could be my best approach? Yes. I'll try that.' L planned in his head.
"Watari please bring two slices of cake." L ordered through the computer. "Of course." Watari answered. The two of them shut off the web-chat at the same time.
Watari appeared quickly with two slices of cake on simple china plates and set them both in front of L before leaving once more. "Thank you, Watari." L called after him.
L finished his slice of cake quickly and slid the second piece in Light's direction.
Light noticed the movement from the corner of his eye and looked up at L, half sad and half sorry.
"Here, take it." L said to him, shuffling the plate closer. "Ryuzaki..." Light trailed quietly. "What? I ordered it for you." L told him. "Oh, well...Thank you." Light said awkwardly. Why was L acting like this so suddenly? Should he do something? No, maybe he should let things unfold a little longer.
Light pulled the small plate closer to himself and took a small sniff of the cake first, just to check it.
"There's nothing wrong with it. You heard me order it from Watari." L told him, not looking away from the TV screens.
Light looked at L a little longer before taking the first bite of the cake and tasted the cream and strawberry flavour. He thought it was quite nice.
"Thank you, Ryuzaki." Light said gratefully, or at least, acting grateful towards him. Light took another bite.
"You know, I've never shared my cake with anyone who wasn't Watari before." L confessed, a sad look on his face and in his dark insomnia eyes, carrying out the guilt plan. L and Light made eye contact, L's eyes dark and sad, Light's apologetic and genuine.
"Well, thank you, Ryuzaki." Light said, smiling slightly at the detective. "I am honoured." Light finished. "You know, Light, you really are like my first real friend." L admitted, acting sadder.
Light looked down sadly. He took a few more bites from his cake before finishing it. Was that all true? It succeeded in making Light feel guilty.
Guilty about the fact that L will be dead in the next hour. And with that thought, Light cracked a smirk nobody but him noticed.
A/N: There, just a little oneshot. Was it good? Reviews/criticism appreciated :)
