Promises.
Leon looked onto what was left of the charred palace that was once the white house. Biological terrorism was like a lost puppy, everywhere it was, he was hurt by it in some form.
He covered his mouth and nose, it seemed like he could never get over that burning flesh smell. It was like inhaling the pain of each family member that would have been affected.
"Mr. Kennedy," Said a soft known voice. "We need to know what needs to be done with Miss. Kennedy this evening, seeing as you may need some time to yourself."
He just shook his head, with no answer, Hunnagan turned and left.
What was he to tell Miss Kennedy? That her mother was first transformed into a fiend, then completely burnt into the ground?
What was he to tell himself?
The woman that he had spent so much time saving, protecting, impregnating…was now dead.
As he watched the flames lick at the ashes, the numbness that he usually felt was turning into a sick feeling, at the pit of his stomach, the smart decision making man that he used to be, was temporarily out of order.
For a second, he didn't function, his legs turned to jelly, his mind wiped clean.
He turned his back on the horror, and returned to the man, that was his boss.
"Kennedy, Take your daughter home and away from this mess.." Leon was numb again. He had never thought that he would be raising Leah alone, It took so much love and paicients for them to create such a perfect creature, and seeing her grow was the benifet of it all.
Ashley would not see her get married.
Ashley would not see her first day of school.
Ashley wouldn't be there to put the little pink stick on bows in her hair.
But thinking of doing it himself, was not the part that scared him. If he couldn't even protect his own wife, how could he possibly protect his only daughter, from something that we humans would never had to deal with if they hadn't created it.
Chaos, was the only thing that they fed on.
He headed through the thick TRICELL doors, and walked closely to Hunnagan, who was patiently waiting.
Hunnagan once again tried to speak to him.
"I'm so sorry, Leon."
Leon grunted,
"Which one is my daughter in, Hunnagan?"
"over there. In the last limo"
He opened the doors, and there she was, sleeping soundly, in the safe secure car seat.
Tears for the first time in years, fell from his eyes.
He cradled his sweet sleeping part of Ashley he had left, keeping her close, keeping her safe, keeping her away.
"I'm so sorry. Leah, I am so, so sorry." Said he. Guilt pulsed through his vains, He broke the promises that he had made to Ashley,
But he was about to make another.
"Leah. I will never let anything hurt you."H dklafjdsjfhunncdlkxcxkcklxjckxcnxmcmc ghlky5jhk65hjy5yjyyhyh1kkjskd2fdS3,KJKLJDSsd
