"Wake up."
Nikita held her limp body in his shaking arms. Her light brown flowing hair was painted with shades of red. He wiped the trail of blood that was rolling down the corner of her lip. "Wake up," he grumbled while holding her close to him. She was breathing, but barely.
It was cold. She was cold.
Tears rolled down his eyes while he stared emptily at her. "I'll never forgive you…if you die on me…Melia," Nikita seethed. He was shaking, every bone in his body trembled as he felt the beat of her heart. "It's so slow…how did we get here?" his amber eyes that filled with agonizing fear searched for a way back to the town.
No use.
There was now a pool of crimson surrounding the couple. Her eyes wouldn't open, her body wouldn't move. The sweet smell of blood entered his nose, but he over looked it. The feeling came back, the one his mother told him about. She told him to take that medicine when he felt this way. Nikita didn't care. He'd never care about something like that again. Why should he bothering caring for himself if she was no longer his drive.
"Are you scared, boy?"
A melodic, feminine voice ran out. Nikita's eyes shot up, no one was there but he screamed. "Help! Help her! Please!" he cried. He gripped her tightly as her breaths began to fade out. "No! Melia! No!" he shouted.
"Do you fear the darkness, boy?"
Melia's the blood dripped from her large stomach wound. Her gray eyes never opened. She never said a word. Each breath she had took…did she even know she was alive? Did she even bother to fight? "M-Melia?" he shrieked. His throat was sore and raspy. The warm liquid was now becoming tacky against his skin. Holding the girls lifeless corpse close to his chest he begged she awaken. Nothing happened though.
"This is your fault, boy. You are the one that killed her. You broke her down from the inside…this is your gift, boy. Are you frightened? Do you now fear yourself?"
Nikita looked up trying to find a face, any face…any being just standing there. "Where are you? Show yourself!" he shouted through tears. Placing her down on the ground he kissed her forced before covering her corpse with his jacket.
"Easy now, wouldn't want another being to be hurt because of your monstrous ways. I'll have to admit. You are much stronger than I thought you'd be. Nothing like your pathetic father. I suggest you run away. Run far away from here. They'll be looking for you, boy. Run away."
The woman's voice was stern and dark. This was enough to send Nikita into a frenzy, though he never left from his spot in the woods. "Nikita?" a familiar voice said as a flash light brightened the crime scene. He shielded his eyes from the light as it illuminated the blood that stained his hands and face. Kaien sauntered toward the confused boy and he lowered his head. "This is quite the mess…isn't it? Well…you must've had a rough night. Mind coming back to the school with me? I have some questions to ask you," he said softly.

Nikita's eyes narrowed in, "I-I didn't do this! I didn't kill her! Kaien! I loved her! I would never- I…Kaien…s-she's gone," he said before the tears began to flood out once more. "I don't understand…one minute she was fine…and the next…s-she had this whole…this whole in her stomach and she was screaming. She couldn't speak…her eyes, they rolled back as she arched forward and plummeted…crashing to the ground. I-I don't know what happened," he explained with fear coating his words. "I heard a voice…but…I never saw anyone…I don't understand anything…and the smell of her blood. It smelled like food…I can't even explain it, but the taste was as alluring! Why!? Why was it like that!?"
The headmaster lowered his head, and had Zero lead Nikita back to the dorms without a word spoken.

That was the first night Nikita ever saw someone die…the first night he ever felt over whelmed by the smell of blood…and the first night he ever killed a soul.
