marlenesirius ;; cold coffee

i'm captivated by you baby, like a fireworks show

They sit down and they talk over cold coffee and stale bagels, and it feels good, despite their current subject-her relationship with Gideon Weasley-because, he's Sirius Black, and he's always managed to have that affect on her.

"He'll never love you the way I could," he says to her, his voice cold and serious, making Marlene bite her lip. She takes a sip of her coffee, because she doesn't want to have this current situation- in fact, she doesn't want a lot of things.

Subtly glancing over at Sirius, Marlene sighs again. She doesn't want to be in love with him, but she is. She's head over heels in love with him, despite everything. Despite the fact that she's suppose to see her boyfriend later.

Despite the fact that she's spent the last six years hating him.

"You know I'm right," Sirius says after a few moments of her silence. He stands up and she assumes he's going to leave and sighs again, because this always happens and she's fucking tired of it. He doesn't leave.

Instead, he grabs her hand and pulls her gently up out of her chair, and to his chest. There's a catchy tune on the muggle radio sitting in the window and the window is open, with a cool breeze flowing in.

He starts to dance slowly around the kitchen, and after getting over the initial shock of things, she dances too.

A few minutes later, as the song starts to go off, there's a wide smile on her face and she's never been happier. It's funny how one dance with Sirius Black can do this to her, but she doesn't question it-she likes feeling beautiful when she's in just sweat pants and her fringe is plastered to her forehead, like she feels right now, with the way he's looking at her.

He leans down and she stands up on her tiptoes, and maybe she should stop him-she has a boyfriend-but she doesn't.

His lips meet hers and it's pure bliss. She smiles through it, because he tastes like her favourite thing-cold coffee.

so take a chance,
and don't ever look back.
