Naru has gone to England, but comes back a year and a half later. So Mai would be almost 18 at this point, Naru would be 19. Mai had already confessed, but still works for him even though he said the famous words "gene or me?"Anywho enjoy! Don't forget to review!
I DON'T OWN GHOST HUNT!
Naru POV
As I sit at my desk twirling my pencil in a circle I try to think of something to do, I have already looked at all the files, then looked at them again, cleaned my office, then cleaned it again. And now I sit bored out of my mind.( AN: Sorry if this is to OOC) At least we have a client coming today. I really hope that they have a good case, otherwise… well let's not think of otherwise. Then I saw the door start to open. I quickly lunged to get a book from the book shelf, and sat back in my chair, trying to look like I am doing something important. I put an annoyed look on my face like Mai had interrupted me from working even though she hadn't.
"Haven't you learned to knock before coming into a room." I asked while watching her face turn from a expression he couldn't place, pain maybe, annoyance and anger.
"Well I'm so sorry to barge in unannounced." Mai said through gritted teeth, her head facing towards the floor. Her bangs hanging over her eyes. I raised an eyebrow, confused as to why she was looking on the floor. I didn't comment.
"I thought that you would want to know that the client is here" She said in a huff, her eyes still glued to the floor .
"I know I can hear her. I was about to come out when you barged in." I said to her, Of course he didn't actually know the client was here but Mai didn't need to know that. Mai's cheeks puffed out only when she turned her back to me did she lift her eyes to stare in front of her. Turning to leave his office, she stopped when I started to talk.
"Oh and Mai? Tea." I said as she stalked out of the room.
Lin POV
I sat at my desk checking my Facebook (AN:Lin definitely goes on facebook, what else could he be doing. What if he's writing a fanfiction. *gasp*)There was nothing else I could do; I mean honestly what do people think I do on my computer. It's not like I am just typing to type. I'm not a robot! No matter how much I wish to be…Then a knock brought me back to reality. I quickly grabbed the mouse for the computer, and clicked out of my Facebook and pretended to be typing something really important.
"I just wanted to let you know the client is here. Oh and would you like some tea?" Mai asked, her position is the same when she talked to Naru. Her eyes were glued to the floor. I just nodded my head, letting her know I would be coming out, and I would like tea. Lin noticed that her voice seemed to have changed, almost as if she was scared or in pain or something, but I can't be sure, much like Naru, he wondered why she was facing floor. I wonder if it has something to do with the case we may take. If that is the cause of her nervousness than, I couldn't help but feel anxious (he'd never tell that to anyone).
Mai POV- 37 Minutes prior
I am pretending to be doing the work that seemed to be growing on my desk it is like I finish one file a new one would appear. I am tired of doing paperwork, why does Naru feel the need to torment me? Oh yeah cause he's a tea loving jerk. I was trying so hard not to fall asleep, Naru would be mad if he found me sleeping on the job. Then I heard the bell, indicating that someone was here. The client was most likely here. What I didn't expect was for the client to run over to me and yank me right out of my chair. I fell with a light thump onto my side. I honestly have no idea what kind of expression I have on my face, but it seemed to break her out of her shock as realization dawned on client's face and she backed up, looking like she was about to cry..
"Oh my. I am so sorry miss! I- You—I—ghost—" I looked up to her and realized that she was the client we had been waiting for.
"It's okay; you just startled me is all." I said trying to put the woman at ease.
"My name is Mai Taniyama, your Yuzu Kamich, correct?" I said, putting my best smile on my face. I led Yuzu to the couch, sitting down next to her. I looked over her body ( AN: that sounds creepy for some reason) and noticed that she had on a blue tank top and a long white skirt, both of the articles of clothing were ruffled, and her shoulder length bright blond hair is uncombed and stuck up in random places. She looks like she left her residence in a hurry. I looked at her in sympathy and I knew that we had to help her.
"Yes that is correct. I apologize once again for making you fall. I am just so scared and when I saw you I just felt a rush of relief, like I was finally safe. I was worried I would not be able to find this place but, the neon sign on the door really helped." Yuzu said. I tried to stifle a laugh, I had talked Naru into putting the sign there, I was tired of people asking if this was SPR, so now the sign is kind of hard to miss.
"Would you like some tea, coffee, soda or water?" I asked, speaking softly and kindly as to not startle the poor girl, even if she's five years older that I was. So my goal was to try and make her calm and happy.
"Tea sounds lovely thank you." I had just got up when I felt a presence of something very sinister. Something straight out of a nightmare. Then I started to see small images, red crayon on the walls, a little girl holding a doll.
"Miss. Are you okay? Miss!" Yuzu said. She watched the brown haired girl start to fall. She had tried to catch her before her head could hit the counter but she was to slow. Much to my surprise, I was lying on the floor of the small kitchenette. I tried to sit up, but felt a strong pain in my head which immediately made me dizzy and nauseous . I put my hand to my forehead and it came back red and sticky. I heaved a sigh. I need to clean myself up, thankfully Yuzu helped me up and helped my get the medical kit that we kept in the kitchen before bringing me to the bathroom. She lifted up my bangs from forehead and winced at whatever it looked like. I didn't want to know.
"You will definitely need stitches." Yuzu said looking a the cut on Mais' forehead, even if she wasn't a doctor or a nurse, it was obvious what kind of treatment she required.
"What? No, i'm fine! I just need a bandage. My boss would freak if I left early. Also that I had been hurt, he will be mad." I said, trying to convince Yuzu she was okay, it didn't work.
"I can put a gauze pad and bandage on it for now. I'll make you a deal, after we talk to your boss about my case i'll take you to the get stitched up. It won't be hard, just a couple stitches and making sure you don't have a concussion or anything, you'll be fine. As for how to get you to leave with me, i'll say I need your help to get something from the store. I'm a good actor, he doesn't stand a chance." Yuzu said laughing quietly clearly giving me no other option.
"Just keep your head semi down and move your bangs to cover it. Hear take my jacket, you have blood on your shirt, I think that would make them suspicious."
"Thank you." Mai said grateful and confused why a stranger would help her like Yuzu had.
I walked into the kitchen slowly, making sure I wasn't going to fall again and started to make tea.
"I am going to go get my boss, the tea is almost done." I tried to smile but it came out forced. I didn't like lying, but I don't want Naru to tease me, or keep me off the case because of my klutziness. I had to ignore the piercing pain that radiated through my head. When the pain subsided she went to Naru's, dunge- um, office. Hopefully this will be textbook. It would be nice for a least one of our cases to be easy. However with our track record I highly doubt that ever case is conjuring up to be trouble.
Mai: Please review, and if you can guess what the movie is, I will give you a ice cream cone… Any way StandInTheRain96 is very happy when you review and when you do not she is sad…
