Ana had a dozen roses in her hand and she sighed as she got out of the car. She walked over to the tombstone and placed the red flowers in the vase next to the tombstone.
"Hi Dom. You have no clue how much I miss you right now..."
Ana wiped a tear off of her cheek and she sat down in front of the tombstone. It was a marble tombstone with a picture of a man on it. The name read 'Dominc Vale' across it and it had the dates of his birth and death. Ana brought her knees to her chest and smiled.
"Apparently Nate and Kensi are together now. I guess they have been dating for quite a while, but they didn't tell anyone. Hetty is...well...Hetty. The little ninja saw me purchasing the roses for you. She didn't approach me, but she knew that I was coming here apparently."
Ana chuckled and fixed her pants leg. Things were quiet and it is the way Ana loved things. She rubbed her hand across the tombstone and smiled. She heard rustling around when she saw him. She just sighed as Callen sat next to her.
"You couldn't help him."
She balled her fist up and just sighed. Callen sighed and stared at the sky. Ana started to cry and Callen looked over at her.
"You won't get it. No one will understand. I was engaged to him. I was planning a wedding with him, and instead I had to plan his funeral. You may have lost a friend but I lost a lover, confidant and friend. I am angry, confused, and very upset. I know it has only been one week, but still...I just want to be alone. To mourn my way and not the way of others."
Callen stood up and looked down at her. She looked up at him and bit her bottom lip. Callen just sighed and placed his hands in his pockets.
"I don't approve of your way of mourning. You are not focused at work..."
"Which is why I am taking the time off. Please...just go. I don't need this from you."
Callen walked away angry and Ana just bit her lip some more. She wiped another tear from her eye and buried her face in her knees. She cried and she didn't see Nate walk up next to her.
"I am glad you took the time off. I am glad you are mourning in your own way."
Ana looked up to see Nate and he smiled a small smile at her. Ana wiped the tears from her face and quickly got into 'calm and cool' mode as she called it.
"Why don't people understand that I mourn different than they do. They can work...I can't because I expect him to come through the door."
Nate sat on the ground next to her and Ana just sighed. Nate wrapped his arm around her and placed a rose on the tombstone. Ana smiled and just rested her head on his shoulder.
"Thank you for understanding and being a friend. Dom's mom called and wanted to check on me. I told her that would I be here and so I am waiting. We usually meet here to talk and have lunch. So I hope that she comes soon. Maybe she can meet you."
Nate chuckled. He ran his hand through his hair and Ana just sighed again. The clouds were breaking up, so there was some sun to make it warmer. Nate and Ana continued to talk about times with Dom and how they were going to get married. The conversation lasted a long time and the two were laughing when Dom's mom came to leave flowers at the grave.
