"Chasey!" Bree shouted and rushed to her brother's side as he tripped. His lip wobbled dangerously as he looked up at her. A vulnerability appropriate for his age, yet still unusual for the youngest bionic.
"You okay?" she asked and he nodded, though stayed on the floor. Bree lifted up his pants, and gave each of his now reddish knees a quick kiss, before pulling him up to his feet. While the bionic part of him might find the action childish, the other part was still the little boy who needed his sister to make the ouchy go away.

"Chase," Bree mumbled and leaned against the railing beside her brother. The smoking streets of Centium City reflected clearly in his hazel eyes. Slowly, she grabbed his hand, squeezing it softly.
"It'll be fine." she murmured as they watched a few stars managing to shine through the cloudy sky. She wasn't even sure what she referred to. His broken heart? The war hanging over their heads? Life? All she knew was that it had been years since someone had sparked her protective side like Rodissius had. Chase was her baby brother, and she would always have his back.

"Brother..." Bree sighed and slowly ran her fingers across the tombstone. The winter wind was pulling at her clothes and hair, but she actually smiled as she placed the flowers on the ground. For months she'd avoided the cemetery, filled with guilt, grief and anger. Though now, now she could finally she the bigger picture.
"Thank you." she whispered, uttering the long-overdue words. Since a very young age, Bree had sworn to protect her brother. Some might say she had failed, but Chase had been just as determined to protect her. He had just been better at it.
