Disclaimer: I do not own Unnatural History or any of its related characters or themes.

AN: A strange thought hit me while watch episode 11, "Thor's Slammer". I loved the idea of a frantic, yet objective Henry xD

AN2: As with all my fanfictions, be prepared for some major OOC-ness. ENJOY!

Yellow

It's not snoring, the scratching sound of writing, the crackling sound of Henry's reading or even the creaking of floorboards when he's busy practicing Tai Chi.

It's almost a light whistle… synchronized with the crackling sound of Henry's coughing–

Jasper rubs his eyes as he sits up in bed, eyeing his roomie suspiciously.

Henry's already awake(no shocker there), studiously checking his reflection in the dresser mirror. He was gulping down water every ten seconds and worse, he looked like he was about to throw up all of it. He swallows hard and rubs his throat.

"You okay?"

Henry takes a while to look up, but when he does, he instantly shoots out of bed and rushes out of the room.

"If you wanted to use the bathroom first you could've just -" but Jasper pauses mid-sentence when he hears the sounds of coughing then finally the flushing of the toilet. He grimaces and slowly gets up. He strolls cautiously out of the room and down the hallway. He's silently brooding over the fact that his dad left on his fishing trip early this morning and will only be back by four. That means... a lloooooooonnnnggg time of playing Nurse-Jasper. And no manly teen should ever be subjected to that, right?

"You alright there, pal?"

The door opens before Henry answers, "I think I have Scarlet Fever…" he says and stalks back to their shared room.

It takes Jasper a few minutes to remove images of Scarlett Johannson swimming throuhg his head, "Eh-what?"

When the city-boy returns to his room, his cousin is already pouring through the fifth book in his trunk, "It might also be Bilharzia… considering the state of our city fountain. You wouldn't believe how filthy it is! It's worse than the west Nile... wait, no... Bilharzia only spreads in fresh water rapids..."

"What were you doing swimming-" Jasper pauses and shakes his head. No point in asking such a stupid question.

"… swollen glands, joint stiffness…" Henry pauses midway through reading then sets the book aside, "Nope… don't have a rash… that rules out Dengue... thank goodness..."

"What are you talking about?" Jasper says, trying to look as unworried as possible. Yes. UN-worried. As in, NOT worried... but he's currently not acing that test.

"No rash... I guess it might be Malaria..." the young man says and abruptly looks up to Jasper, "Do I look yellow to you?"

Associating Henry Griffin with a bouncy-happy colour like Yellow was pretty hard at the moment, but Jasper wasn't about to hurt his cousin's feelings. "Sure... definitely. Super yellow. Like sunflowers and bananas... " he plasters a smile on his face at the end of his reverie, hoping it had the desired effect.

It takes a few minutes, but Henry looks down and opens another book, "Okay. Not yellow. "

Jasper yawns, "... You know, it might just be flu..."

"Don't be ridiculous!"

Thanks for reading!
