AN: 'Ello. Lurking Poison here. This is my first Pendragon fanfic, so I apologize for any… weirdness in it. Review please!!
Disclaimer: I do not own Pendragon. D.J. MacHale does, though.
Hey guys. It's been a while since I've written, but I'm in a hell of a dangerous situation here, and I need to get this down on paper as fast as I can, because I really don't know how fast I might be… well, you know.
The territory I'm on is called Kionia. Weird name, huh? Well, the name is as weird as the territory, because I'm telling you, this territory is… well, just read it.
This territory seems like a perfect place. Everybody lives in harmony with nature, and it's a pretty advanced civilization, compared to the primitive territories I've been on. But I won't get ahead too much. I'll give you the full details.
As always, the flume ride was enjoyable. It was my "free-time" in this whole Traveler business. Fluming to a different territory all the time is hard, which is why I try to enjoy the flume rides as much as possible, even if at the end of the ride I'm going to have to start thinking about battling an evil demon bent on our universe's destruction.
The jumble of musical notes announced I was nearing my destination, the territory of Kionia, so I snapped back from my thoughts and awaited the drop-off. The flume dumped me in a very dark cave. I waited for a while, until my eyes spotted an opening, with light coming through it. I approached it to realize it was a much larger opening. I looked around for the clothes the acolytes usually leave for the Travelers on the territories, due to the fact that things from different territories can't be mixed. I found them, thankfully, and they weren't bad. They were some comfy leather-looking pants with the matching shirt, and the shirt seemed to have one of those mouth-and-nose covering thingies you see on headhunters and such. As always, boxers stay on. I reiterate: the territories are doomed if their fate depends on my choice of underwear.
Looking outside, I realized the flume was conveniently hidden in a mountain range. Nice. I was mesmerized by the surrounding mountains when I felt a sudden hot breeze. Sticky too. "Must be the weather here," I thought to myself. But then, I felt the breeze again. I turned around to find the source, and came face to face with the one thing I feared most next to Saint Dane.
Every territory Saint Dane is on has quigs. On Denduron, they were giant bear-looking monsters. On Cloral, they were sharks. On First, Second and Third Earth, they were monster dogs. Veelox was quig-free, mainly because Saint Dane was done with that territory when I arrived. On Eelong, they were humans (freaky, I know), on Zadaa, they were snakes, and on Quillan they were spiders. Of course, they all had one thing in common: Their bright yellow eyes. Although I've faced many quigs, and lived to tell the tale, this one topped the list because right now, in front of me, was a quig from Kionia. And what's worse, this one looked capable of eating me right then and there. Staring at me with those ugly, hypnotizing yellow eyes, was a dragon.
"Uh-oh," I muttered, as the dragon opened up its jaws and let out a blood-curdling screech.
Please tell me what you think, apart from adding a bit of length. No harsh comments though, please.
