With the upcoming reopening of the BBA headquarters in Japan, magazines sought to publicize the event by the quickest means: the undefeated three time World Champion, Kinomiya Takao. Mr. Dickinson had long saw this coming and talked it out with Takao beforehand. Takao would only do one exclusive interview with the magazine he personally chose, ensuring huge sales for the company and a hefty paycheck for Takao. JP People had won and the interview, along with the photoshoot, was done two weeks before the issue would sell on the stands. Takao had taken it upon himself to ask that certain teams also got a copy of the issue, intent to soak in the limelight among fellow bladers for as long as he could milk it.
Now, however, he could die of embarrassment.
On the cover of JP People magazine was a remarkably outstanding view of his butt and titled clearly above it in bold letters - "DAT ASS".
No one spared the chance to poke fun at the champion's unexpected new fame and equally surprising embarrassment. A call rang later in the afternoon from the company profusely apologizing but the damage was done, as pointed out by all of Japan's media.
"The release of JP People magazine's July issue saw the most talked about cover photo," here they nationally broadcast the all glamorous picture of his rear in HD, "and with an even more interesting story from the company. JP People claim that a very recently fired employee was out for revenge to taint the company's name, but without severely damaging the reputation of the celebrity that would be at the receiving end of most of the media. Knowing that the newest issue prominently featured three time BBA World Champion, Kinomiya Takao, the employee replaced the cover photo as well as editing out the entire article and crafting up a completely different article of Kinomiya Takao's life, ranging from his fashion sense to his relationships with his teammates. The article was increased from the previous 3 page spread into an impressive 10 page spread. Approximately 5 days worth of copies were sold out before the day even reached 2 o'clock. JP People will release the real issue come morning, though that will do nothing to stop the new buzz on Kinomiya Takao."
The months that followed were hands down the most embarassing of his life. Because no matter how the BBA's publicity and damage control team says, no matter how "a sense of humor and accepting this situation for what it is", nothing can come close to signing his signature on that photo... and then have a numerous people as if they could see a side by side comparison.
The picture I'm talking about is found in the very beginning of the G-Revolutions first opening theme, watch?v=7ZgDwnoSBV8, 00:02-00:04, right where Takao is reaching for his launcher and rip cord. If I'm inspired, I'll post more. If not, others are welcome to pick up on it-just contact me first!
