A/N: Hey drop a review please! It makes my day :D. Enjoy! (Even if it's no where near Christmas :P) ONE - SHOT!
Disclaimer: I DO NOT OWN HEIST SOCIETY just the plot of this..
"Hey Kitty Kat," Hale said smirking slightly. He crossed over to the couch that Kat Bishop was sitting in. She was watching, entranced by the fire in front of her. He offered her a brownie as he sat down next to her. She took it, but did not eat it.
"So what're you doin' here?" he asked her curiously. The room that they were in felt very lonely compared to the Christmas party that was in full swing in the dining room.
"Oh, just thinking..." she replied vaguely. A curtain of black hair hid her angular face. Hale swiped it behind her ear. She looked at him as if noticing him for the first time. "What are you doing here?" she asked thoughtfully.
"Looking for you," he responded. The room was dimly lit with only the fire and Christmas tree as a source of light. They both sat in silence for a moment staring at the fire. Hale finally spoke, breaking the eerie silence, "Why don't you come downstairs. You haven't seen everyone yet."
"No thanks," Kat sighed. She scooted closer to him and laid her head on his broad shoulder. He froze. Their jean-clad knees grazed one another. Hale was sensitively, aware of everything; Kat's even breath, the smell of her vanilla perfume, her black hair faintly tickling is neck.
"You know, Kat, I never did give you my Christmas present," he whispered. She raised her head a bit, with a thin smile on her lips.
"Where is it?" she asked with a curiosity only a cat could have. He took her small hand in his and led her to the Christmas tree in the corner of the room. The tree was brightly lit. He picked up a long, narrow tube gift wrapped with reindeer on it. He handed it to her with a crooked smile.
Kat took it in her hands making a big show of opening it. Hale just rolled is coffee colored eyes, still grinning. Finally she opened it and unrolled the canvas that was inside. She laughed in delight when she saw what it was. It was a Monet.
Specifically, the Monet that she tried to steal the first time they met.
"I can't believe your giving this to me," she said grinning like a Cheshire cat. The smile took up her whole face, from ear to ear.
"Ya, well it's Christmas," he said, as if that explained everything. "Hey Kat?"
"Hmm?"
"Mistletoe," he murmured, just loud enough so she could hear. Hale suddenly grabbed her waist firmly into him, and wrapped his arms around her. Kat dropped the painting in surprise.
And then, they kissed.
At first Kat didn't do anything, but she eventually returned the favor. Hale deepened the kiss after Kat didn't push him away. His hands threaded their way into her jet-black locks, and her arms curved around his neck and shoulders. It was as if, they were both waiting for this moment. Finally, they broke apart keeping the heads close together. They were both smiling. Hale's face felt warm from their exchanging breath.
Kat looked up staring at the fresh mistletoe above their heads. She was wondering if he planned the whole thing. But even if he did, she wasn't mad at him. She was very happy.
Hale brought her closer to him and breathed, "Merry Christmas Kitty Kat."
