Chapter 1
"I love you Luna," Harry muttered as Luna rested her head on his shoulder. The two swayed gently in time with the music as did many other couples around them.
"I know, but I'm sorry Harry, I'm with Ron, he's your best friend!" Luna said as Harry held her closer. "Harry, I have to go," she said, letting go of him and beginning to walk away.
"No!" Harry said grabbing Luna's hand and pulling her back so she was once again pressed up close to him. "Don't go…"
"I have to, bye Harry," Luna freed herself from Harry's grip and slowly walked away, with out looking back. Warm tears rolled down Harry's cheeks and he sat down on a nearby chair.
"I love you Luna…" he said to himself watching her walk out the door of the hall, her long blonde hair swung from side to side.
The start of 6th year.
"Hi Harry," Luna said absent-mindedly, walking past Harry with a surprising air of grace he had never seen anyone else walk with.
"Hi Luna, where you of to then?" Harry asked, he himself was leaning against a large stone pillar waiting for Ron and Hermione to accompany him to potions. Not that he wanted them to hurry up, potions wasn't exactly his favourite lesson and he found it some what unfair that it should be his first lesson of the year.
"Oh… I… can't remember…" Luna said after a few seconds thought. Harry just laughed and shook his head, Luna smiled at him not seeming to realise why he was laughing, "last year was fun!" she said referring to the DA, a club Harry had set up to teach the other students defensive spells, "We should do it again some time, I… I like with people like you…"
"Like me?"
"People that accept me for who I am… anyway, I should probably go, I need to find out where my lesson is! Bye Harry!" Luna waved goodbye and skipped.
"Bye Luna," Harry said smiling watching her skip away. Something about her intrigued him, but he couldn't figure out what it was, maybe it was her wonderful blue eyes, or her long blonde hair, or her soft smile, or maybe it was just the way she made you feel so comfortable, like you could say anything and she would be able to sympathise and understand. Whatever it was Harry didn't have much to think about it as Hermione and Ron can dashing round the corner.
"Harry! There you are!" Hermione shouted. "Where the hell have you been!?"
"Waiting for you!" he said.
"We were waiting for you!" Ron said. "Come on! We're already late for potions!" Ron, Harry and Hermione ran towards the dungeons and into their potions room. Professor Snape was none to pleased that Harry and his friends were late but did nothing more than deduct five points from Gryffindor. "That's weird," Ron whispered to Harry, "Normally he would have given us a detention or something,"
"Yeah… sure… weird…" Harry said, not really paying attention to what Ron was saying. He was too busy thinking about his conversation with Luna.
