AN: This is a one shot that most likely will never see another chapter. This is for your enjoyment as a little drabble in the AVP world. *NOTE* The 'victim' may or may not be a fangirl. You have been warned.
Does he suspect something? I wondered as I pressed my back against the dirty alley wall, holding my breath as I held absolutely still. Moments later, I heard the crunch of his feet as he continued walking, clicking and growling to himself. I clutched the camera closer to my chest as I peered around the dumpster, watching as his huge form made its way deeper into the dark. After a few more moments, I crept after him, tiptoeing gingerly around potentially noisy piles of garbage and pressing myself into the shadows. This is crazy! What if he gets angry? What if he catches me? I paused as a slow hissing echoed down the alley from behind me, making the hairs on the back of my neck stand on end. What if he's not the most dangerous thing out tonight?
I moved faster, rushing after the big guy while still trying to be absolutely silent. I looked up from the ground and froze, suddenly aware that he wasn't in front of me anymore. I glanced around, wondering where he went, when suddenly I was bowled over, the black form accompanied by a shriek and a pool of drool that dripped onto the back of my head. My camera went clattering down the pavement as I screamed, landing hard on my stomach, bits of broken glass lodging into my soft skin. It hissed at me and I tried to punch at it, but it dodged effortlessly.
Suddenly, the black beast was ripped from my back, a roar alerting me to the fact that the guy I had been stalking was now rescuing me. A rush of guilt flooded through me, quickly pushed away by fear as I scrambled away, pushing my back against the wall as I watched the end of the fight. The one I had been following shoved the beast's head into the wall, killing it instantly. As the acid blood began to eat away at the wall, his head snapped around and stared at me. I bit my lip, wondering what he was going to do. Finally, he stepped forward and pulled me to my feet, gently brushing the glass away and purring to me comfortingly.
"Th-thank you." I managed to stutter as he turned away. Pausing, he nodded and quietly walked away.
