You Loved Me For What Was Mine: A Beastly Poem

By: PeachyKeen13

It had to have been a miracle, of that I am convinced of even today

In the past I was so used to everything just always going my way.

But when all of that changed, and a spell was cast by she

I was afraid that never again would someone see me for me.

But then you came along, someone I never would have picked before

To pick the broken pieces of me up from the tile floor.

You kissed me when I had no lips, held me when I had no hands

Loved me when I was so beastly, I was hardly even a man.

You called me yours, and I called you mine, and I thought it was too good to be true

I never thought I'd ever see you for what was you.

And then when you left, part of me died, and I had no reason to live.

While that seems a little dramatic, it's true, and my crudeness I hoped you'd forgive.

And then when I was me again, you loved me like you did before

I never though we'd be together now, let alone forevermore.

So I'm happy that you picked me, that you gave me a sign

Because even when I was beastly, you loved me for what was mine.
